Goodbye,Mother

I knew the time would come,
but never would I have thought it would be today:
The day I had to put you away.
How I still hear your voice in my head,
and see you knitting, and laying on my bed.
Now my heart is dead and I don’t know what to do;
I miss all the memories I had of you.
Although you watch over me now,
It feels like a part of me has been destroyed.
There will never be anything that can fill this void.
I now know what it means to be depressed.
How can I ever put my mourning to rest?
You have guided and given me everything you could,
Now I will try my best to get back to feeling good.
Forever will I remember your smile,
For it was as bright as the stars,
And all of those memories we had while living in a car.
Forever will I remember your heart of pure gold
And the nights you took care of me during a cold
Although you were my mother, you were my best friend
I will miss you until my days' end.
