Dear Heart

Dear heart,
Please stop beating your rhythm of love,
It's not healthy to my sanity.
The luster of lies you believe,
Will slowly eat you alive.
Bleed and let go,
Shatter and break for in the morning,
Band aids will heal everything .
Patch worked prices of oneself,
Will teach you it's lesson,
Cut off the ribbons laced with barbed wire,
Sever yourself from the ones you love.

It wasn't meant to be,
For the scars will heal themselves,
The lies have crushed the good in you,
Tainting it with lost pride.
Rip out your memories from the seams,
Dust out your corners of feeling,
Be blind to the things around you.

The arms that comfort you,
Are slowly suffocating your sanity,
The lips that seduced with decadence,
have touched you with poison,
Killing you second by gentle second.
Create a hollowness inside,
To rid yourself of emotion,
The void will be fine.

It wasn't meant to be,
For the scars will heal themselves,
The lies have crushed the good in you,
Tainting it with lost pride.
Rip out your memories from the seams,
Dust out your corners of feeling,
Be blind to the things around you.

Time heals all wounds,
No matter how gaping they seem to be,
Let it fade away,
To breathe once again on your own.
Independence is bliss,
Don't play second best,
Just please stop,
Beating your rhythm of love.
Raise your fist,
Stand up for what's right.
Just admit it wasn't meant to be.
No matter how much you want it,
It will fade away.
The beauty of it all,
Transitions and turns to black,
Let it blow away,
Spread into the sand.
Welcome the wind of change,
Create a new you,
Create a new life,
Where you are alone...

It wasn't meant to be,
For the scars will heal themselves,
The lies have crushed the good in you,
Tainting it with hatred,
Rip out your memories from the seams,
Dust out your corners of feeling,
Be blind to the things around you,
Yes it wasn't meant to be
