The Ballot

THE BALLOT
The time is here
Mortals racing, gliding and running
Their minds in the backyard
Five months to the mark.
I must make it, they say!

Pot bellied men angles the cake,
A stumble, a ramble then a shake
But, there is only one way out.
Only one house on the hill.

Am taken aback
Memories of chaos, slaughter and murder
Ghost leaving, to curse and haunt
Our women cry at Lords long departed
A cry, a scream then a numb
Blood oozes, our collective guilt.

To what end
For how long ,
Sacrifice our souls at the altar of wrongs
Unity be our shield and defender
So says our national creed
Mind our brothers

Wisely, we should choose our leaders
Your vote, your secret

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
