The Spring of 2022

Warm air, feelings crushed
That's the highlight along with an adrenaline rush.
Noise in the background polluting the environment
Since they promoted religion,
You silently criticize and blush.

First day of spring, everything must be new and repaired
But it takes little to fall back into the old regime.
All hell may break lose as war may not be averted
The silence may be the calm before ultimate doom.

If it's all about social and economic power,
Why put human lives at stake?
Clearly, I must be delusional as everything is fair in love and war.
Not exactly the inspiration for a peaceful spring break.

I feel like praying to an entity to put an end to this feud.
But what if it has been a long time coming?
Maybe it's all a part of the grand plan.
Lighting a fire to all my thoughts, I don't intend to give it another glance.
