My Heart Hurts

My Heart Hurts
My heart hurts because I did not know that the last time
we met, would be the last time for a long time yet.
My heart hurts because I did not know that the last time
we spoke, would be the last time and my heart broke.
My heart hurts because I did not know my friend, my friend
in Christ would soon graduate into the presence of the
King, Jesus Christ.
Oh, but my heart is glad and rejoices to know my friend,
my friend in Christ is now in the presence of the King, and
is no longer troubled by anything
My heart is glad and rejoicing to know my friend, my friend
in Christ has received promised crowns so sweet, and is
now casting them at Jesus's feet.
My heart is glad and rejoicing to know my friend, my friend
in Christ will one day welcome me home into everlasting
life, to forever be with the one who died for me.
My heart is glad and rejoicing to know my friend, my friend
in Christ can now look upon Jesus's face, the one who
saved us by His grace.
My heart is glad and rejoicing to know my friend, my Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ bled and died on the cross, to be
the Savior for the Lost.
My heart is glad and rejoicing to know my friend, my Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ was laid in a tomb prepared for
the dead, but after three days is risen instead.
My heart is glad and rejoicing to know my friend, my Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ, His all he free gave, and being
risen defeated sin, death, and the grave.
