Chimney, Chimney

Chimney, Chimney, puffing out smoke,
Fire below burning, ashes we stoke.
Stoke the embers, free the flames,
Watch the glow from whence they came.

Chimney, Chimney, puffing out smoke,
Sweet smell of Pine, Beech & Oak.
Left to dry, cured and ready,
Stoke those embers, keep it steady.

Chimney, Chimney, puffing out smoke,
Fire below burning, marshmallows toast.
Family sitting, cheeks aglow,
Storytelling time, love to show.

A lovely fun time by the fireplace with the family. Such a fond memory. Your poem had great rhyming and a fun pace and rhythm to it, Angela. An enjoyable read. Thanks for sharing my friend, Bill

Aw, this is such a sweet poem, Angela, and it brought back so many memories. I recall when my great-uncle would popcorn in the fireplace on a cold winter's day. Ah, yes! Thanks for sharing this picture.
