Time Passes

Ten little fingers
Ten little toes
Chubby little checks
And a rosey red nose
Seems like only yesterday
But twenty years have passed
My baby has grown up
And it went by too fast
My little boy
Now a grown man
A soldier, and a husband
None the less a great man
Bravery and hero
Are words that come to mindScars and bruises
Memories never far behind
You couldnt have learned any better
Than to do it on your own
Lifes little lessons
Has helped make you strong
It has been documented
And has been declared
That you have a heart of gold
And purple, a medal, to wear
I couldnt have asked for any any better
When God gave you to me
The most treasured and precious gift
I could have ever received
To watch you grow
From a child to a man
I just hope you know
I did have a plan
Ypu followed my hopes
Right down to a "t"
You are everything
I had hoped you would be
To be your mother
And to have been your friend
Has made my life worth living
All the way to the end.
