A Rock Name Stabile

There by the table, a rock did lay,
a silent companion, come what it may.
I had made a deal, so clear and true-
Stabile would clean, while I went to work, too.
But when I returned, the house was still,
not a sound to be heard, all was too chill.
I searched high and low, left and right,
and there was that rock, by my socks I really like.
I asked him why the cleaning wasn't done,
but Stabile said nothing, his face without fun.
The next day I left with the deal still the same.
Yet again, I came back, my rock taking the blame.
"What a mess!" I cried, with a stern, echoing voice.
I looked at Stabile, "You have but one choice -
Explain why you broke our deal, or out you will go!
This house must be clean, before the clock strikes ten, you know!"
Once again, I opened the door, dread in my heart,
but to my surprise, not a speck to depart.
The house was pristine, not a thing out of place -
I went to find Stabile, to thank him to his face.
But all I could find was a note on the floor,
telling a tale I'd not heard before.
"Thank you for letting me stay," the note did say,
"Maybe one day I'll come back just to play."
"Sorry it took so long, I had to get a maid,
but I had to wait till Friday,
when I knew you got paid.
The bill is on the table, for you to see,
I hope it's not too much, the house was very dirty."
"I would of cleaned it myself,
but I just wasn't able."
"So long and goodbye."
Signed your friend, Stabile.
I stood there, amazed, at this rock's noble deed.
grateful for the gesture, and that it was done at fast speed.
Maybe I'll see my solid friend again,
invite him for coffee and the day we can spend.
Goodbye for now, my friend who stood still.
Now, how am I going to pay this outrageous bill?
