90 Years

It's time for me to go, my Dear,
I've been here too long now.
All my friends and family gone,
So I'll take my final bow.

I'm in such pain these days,
The loneliness hurts too,
My hearing's gone and breathing is tough,
I'm sorry, am I bothering you?

             .........

I asked her to stay a little longer,
Selfish of me I know,
But 90 years is far too long,
To end on such a low.

I assured her I had time for her,
That actually she made me smile.
And I thanked her for still being here,
And staying lovely all the while.

This is just a true story between myself as a healthcare assistant and a patient. It's just a true story made into a poem, I thought maybe others could relate.
