Wish I Was a Child

in this grief-stricken, tear-stained world...we all have our own childish dreams and wishes...

Wish I was a child
And never have to leave my fantasy land
Of dolls and beautiful dresses
Of fairies and their magic wands...
Wish I was a child
And live in a world of happy endings
Where princesses met their rightful prince
And angels in full rapture sing...
Wish I was a child
And never have to live in this cruel world
Full of hatred and deception and lies
Where reality stings like a sword...
Wish I were forever a child
And never have to cry and grieve
Never have to grow and leave
This wonderful world of make-believe!
