Wales To Me

Wales to me is home, the place I love to be
Close to mountains, surrounded by hills so green
Waterfalls, trickling Brook, rivers run free
Twenty miles westward the coast can be seen

Friendly people it's like going back in time
Good morning greetings or an afternoon smile
How am I doing? I reply I am just fine
Stopping for a second , from walking my daily mile

Gone are the miners, slag heaps and black dust
Horses run wild, sheep that take fright
The national game of rugby, toughness and guts
Melodic male choirs who love to unite

Deprivation and past damage to the land
The Welsh have a strength, on that I agree
All standing together, there to hold your hand
Born in England but Wales is now home to me
