Insomniac

The sun is fading down
After the blank, arid
Lonely day
And the cold wind rises slowly
As I stand alone on the edge

A voice, carried by the currents
Following that bird
Up to the dark, purple clouds
Meant for me, as I hear the words
That I have never spoken

The air, slowly rolling around me
To form the warm hand
That touches my cheek
As I stare into the distance
Knowing that somewhere, somehow
I am not alone

I stare into the distance
Knowing that somewhere, somehow
You are looking back at me
