Our Story

That day in June happened so fast

Something had crept in from your past

In that moment I watched you shed tears

As the doctors confirmed our worst fears

Seeing you scared, worried & shocked

It was the day our world was rocked

Tests were taken to give us answers

The news was broken that it was cancer

My heart shattered, my mind was racing

We couldn't believe what we were facing

Your brain was the hostage, the cancer had spread

That was the moment you wish you were dead

I was so afraid this would happen one day

No signs, other than a migraine in May

We embraced and I held your hand tight

I'm here for you always, this is our fight

I went from wife to nurse overnight

Trying my best to do everything right

Watching you suffer hurts so deep

But our vows is my promise to keep

For sickness & in health, thats for real

A simple kiss was what sealed the deal

Now we are here, living that line

Caring for you, the responsibilty is mine

Everyday is different, good and bad days

Uncertain future, is what doctors say

But when times are tough, we stick together

I love you baby, always & forever

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
