Always You

Sitting on the sidelines,
Cheering all alone.
Never took advantage,
Of throwing the first stone.
Your love had never ceased,
Though errors were repeated.
You strengthened all Your efforts,
When mine were all depleted.
When most would walk away,
You held me with good grip.
When all my purpose lost,
My story, You would flip.
Never knowing why,
You loved me without cause.
Viewing me as perfect,
Despite my countless flaws.
To You, I had a point,
To live through every day.
In brand new situations,
You’d tell me what to say.
When things seemed so dark,
My eyes could barely squint.
You showed up yet again,
To place my next footprint.
Sometimes my fear took over,
Hearing what You told.
But as soon as I moved forward,
The glory, I would behold!
Understanding my emotions,
Respecting humanity.
Granted independence,
From mortal insanity.
Now I see how crucial,
Our vital bond became.
Appreciating the gift,
Of granting me a name.
The body reserves us space,
The mind’s our navigation.
But the soul is what we use,
To escape our own damnation.
Granting deep insight,
Into my fragile being.
Holds such great importance,
That is worth believing.
So now I know the secret,
Of finally being free.
Surrender to your God,
He is the only key!
