Lets Hope This Is the Last

Many children were stolen
It wasn’t that long ago
Our rich culture took a beaten
Our children's cries still echo
This is what separates our nation

They came on a big ship
And fired their gun
Our languages were split
 We were forced to run
This is what separates our nation

There is an injustice
Mrs Joyce clake, miss dhu
They were shot by police
Who is responsible, who?
This is what separates our our nation

Children arrested by the fuzz
Many without a white face
they took my cuzz
She was judged her by her race
This is what separates our nation

This is our country
You are the oppression
You showed us no mercy
And we don’t need a card of concession
This is what separates our nation

Proof of culture is our obligation
Haven't we proved enough?
We are of our lands creation
Why isn’t that enough?
This is what separates our nation

Our families are dead this is true
It’s all your fault
Your debt is due
You treat us like criminals, by your own default
This is what separates our nation

You say, we have moved on
The pain is still felt
Mums lost their sons
wonder, how do you think they have dealt?
This is what separates our nation

Our towns are not level
We are isolated from society
We are treated unequal
Maybe this is why we lack sobriety
This is what separates our nation

Treated like animals
Through abuse and brutality
We attended many funerals
Where is you’re humanity
This is what separates our nation

Our children are without their culture
They have become lost
Social stereotypes in their future
But at whose cost
This is what separates our nation

Being born of aboriginality
Shouldn’t be a ticket of death
We should be a community
But you sit there as some take their last breath
This is what separates our nation

We celebrate through NAIDOC
A day to remember
The memories and dialogue
left only as embers
This is what separates our nation

Mistreated by the law
Is in our past
Abuse and brutality should be no more
Let's hope this is the last?
Let's end the separation of our nation

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
