To Love a Pet

It’s never going to be easy 
To have to say goodbye 
I can’t promise you any sadness  
I won't tell you won’t cry

The loss of a pet is the loss of love 
The loss of an angel sent from above
Down to help us live and learn 
And to work hard for the things we earn 

To have loved a pet until times up 
It means you are finally there,
You’re a grown-up.
