Love Lost

I saw you but not as I remember
Your brown eyes no longer sparkle and glow
Alas you have changed since last December
So full of life, but now you are shallow
Your personality has discolored all
At once from when you had a heart of gold
You fell out of my life like leaves of fall
Once so close, you are not here as of old
You saw me today, as you remember
My eyes still sparkle unchanged and tender
I am still the same since last December
I saw you today, my heart surrendered
If only loving you was not so tough
Closed off to the world "we" would be enough

Nicely done Sophia. The flow of this was smooth and fun to read.
