Better Days Will Come

She sent me away.
Couldn't stand me.
Wouldn't let herself believe I was right.
It was her business, not mine.
But when you live with someone for so long, you can't let them feel pain.
When they hurt, your heart aches.
And you would do anything in the world to make them feel better.
Anything.
So she sent me away, to live her life of disaster.
Sure we still talk, but it isn't the same.
One day we will meet together and everything will be as it should.
When that day comes, her pain will be gone forever.
But until that day comes, I will remain in darkness.
Through the darkness a dim light remains.
It reminds me of the hope of future opportunities.
Better days will come.
