Lost Poem

I wrote you a poem a long time ago
it was called Tea Time in Belfast City but now it's lost…
I don't know what made me think of it,
but since then I've been searching desperately…

My perception of our now done relationship
has become more than just a little negative…
I know it's only human and natural,
my anger and my pains are acting out…

When I wrote that poem to you,
I was so in love and it was all very new…
I need so much to read it now
and remember that it wasn't all bad…

I need to realize we once had so much
maybe not material things but love.
I can't remember what it used to feel like,
but I can't be living in a place so dark…
I want memories of you to bring a smile to my face
and not make me feel like it was all a big mistake…

You are not the villain that I'd like to think you are,
you were that special to steal away my heart
and though now it's all over
I'd like to keep you in my heart always…
