Memories

To: An Old friend

After 20 years separation, how glad I was to see you again, and
the memories that came flooding back as we talked were memories of more
than that of just old friends.
How well I remember, we were once in love... young, foolish and unsure,
But somehow I couldn't help but to wonder if now that we are older and wiser,
could love for us possibly endure.
I wasn't much with words then and you were more than a little shy,
Perhaps now that we both have more self confidence we could give it another try.
Though the years have passed and surely brought many changes of heart,
The feelings I had for you then, still remain as though we were never apart.
Yes, as I sit back and visualize the sweet memories of you and me, I can't help
but wonder if our love could ever again be. JBR
