Nocturnal Visit From a Raccoon

With a mask on the face and rings on the tail
She causes enough trouble to be in jail.
Digging through the garbage after she knocks over the can
That critter’s mean enough to take on any man.
With paws like hands
Sometimes she’ll stand
And hiss at me like I did something bad
Then scamper to the woods, which makes me mad.
And as I bend over to pick up the mess
I can’t help but think maybe I’m blessed.
