I Know That You Hoped For Long Good Goodbyes

Blood splattered walls,
The death of loved ones tearing your life apart,
The evidence of hopelessness escaped through the heart.

We always tell ourselves that it will never happen to us,
Blinded by the hopes and dreams,
When you find out all that’s left is sobs and screams.

Hold on for as long as possible,
Try to taste the last bit of fresh air you can get.
Say goodbye to the sunsets,
For you will never see them again.

One who was caged down is finally free,
Your soul flies high over the horizon.
The agony you feel finally stopped,
Glad to know you’re in a better place.

Death is more then just one big tragedy,
I guess it’s hard to explain unless you’ve been there.

The ones who can see the beauty in death are the ones who wish for it every day,
The ones who love it are the ones who always seem to lose it.
The innocent eyes of curiosity,
As she sees the stars for the first time.

The peak of life as it all comes crashing down,
The sleepless nights and lonely stares.
Wishing they would come back for even a moment,
To share the wonders of the afterlife.

After death life seems so much more precious,
No more being chained down by worry,
Let the ones you love reach all they want to be,
Life is always such an interesting story.

Dear Mom

Tears are rising,
Sun is setting,
That picture of us at your wedding,
Staring at me in the face,
Reminding me of what we once had.
You look at me,
But then turn away,
I know you are angry,
And I know that you are ashamed.
I guess I let you down mom,
I’m sorry to say,
I guess we’re not close anymore,
Only because of that tragic day.
When all hell broke loose,
And you said the worse,
Those words haunt me like a curse.
Only if you knew the tears I’ve cried,
Those sleepless nights even though I tried.
My heart pounds,
You are calling,
To yell or scream?
To tell me that I’m no longer me?
You say hello,
In that stern voice you have,
I choke up,
I knew this was going to be bad.
Please don’t yell at me,
Please don’t scream,
Please just wake me from this horrible dream.
I lye there at night thinking of all the possibilities,
Why can’t I think of any!
Why cant I just figure a way out of this stupid mess!
I do tell you I must confess,
I haven’t been trying my very best.
You let me down too,
Leaving me on the porch feeling numb,
Feeling broken and just gone.
You’ve cut me deep,
Deeper than ever before,
I guess now you have the higher score,
On who is worse.
Oh how I hate this freaking curse,
The curse of this family,
And all our disfunctionalness,
Our lives have been everything but bliss.
I guess your right mom,
You don’t know me,
Because I have changed honestly.
I know what is best for me now,
I’m not just a pawn in your little scheme,
To seem better then all human beings.
I’ll never forget those tears I’ve cried,
Or those sunsets all those nights.
Those pictures will not fade in my mind.

The Hatred of Two Families, For the Love of Two People

Purely a reject at heart,
To everyone else she is just so different.
Parents who are clueless,
They don’t know how they truly are affecting her and her life.
Her dreams are to be accepted,
But that task seems so hard for everyone to do.
She’s too different,
Her family is too difficult to handle.
She sits in the dark in exile it seems,
The only light in her is the blazing candle of her dreams.
She aims so high and falls so low,
She promises herself she will never let go.
Love can only go so far,
He seems so near,
But lives so far.
She tries to paint a silhouette of her life so grand,
But everyone knows her future is only in fates hands.
But his love for her is oh so strong,
He sees past everything that is wrong.
She feels she is not good enough for his family,
He reassures her that he will always love her.
He holds her when she cries,
They know their love is not based on lies.
She falls short of their expectations,
She shows no hesitation to try to be herself.

The Autumn

I often watch the leaves blow by,
And feel the autumn winds sweep me away. I try so hard not to cry,
The beauty of time just flying by.
I close my eyes and smell the sweet air,
Utter beauty with just a touch of despair,
Oh the years have grown in age,
The years disappearing white to gray.
Am I truly ready for life to begin,
What if I fail or fall or cant swim,
In the pressures of true life?
These are the times I will always remember,
My mind flowing freely like burning embers.
Wrapped up by love all the time,
Reminding me that my long lost love is finally mine.
But those strong feelings I always get,
As I lye awake on my bed,
Why wont my mind just take a rest?
I guess what they say will still haunt me.
Why am I the object of their aggression?
Diminishing my only piece of sanity left.
I just try to ignore these inhuman feelings,
And focus on things with true meaning,
Love for one will always be there,
Whether I’m frightened, angry, apathetic or scared.
Oh beautiful seasons just take me away,
Send your messengers who have fallen from grace.
Wrap me up with your entangling vines,
Shelter me from these things so unkind.
Hold me back from self-destruction,
For only my life has just begun.

The Darker of Times

I cant stand being trapped within this walls,
and in the end, everything just falls.
nothing seems to be going right,
I need to be brought back to the light,
so say goodnight.
whats with all this mass confusion,
this is why I've come to this conclusion,
everyone seems to be so unreal and fake,
never giving, but always willing to take.
why cant people learn to forget,
move on with their lives,
or else they will regret,
regret the wasted sunsets,
regret the broken dreams.
