Winsome Whales Poem
Curled your breaths
Touch clouds in dreams
A nightmare’s death
Stitching the seams
The night laid to rest
On a bed of split stone
As a dream it is dressed
A thread softly sewn
A hand wiping worries
Off a mother’s forehead
As another hand hurries
To leave her for dead...
Your fingers trace lines
On a red silken sweater
A thousand nursery rhymes
Like a thousand love letters
Your tears shards of glass
Falling from a broken mirror
Slicing mother as they pass
The words you can’t seem to hear

Winsome Whales Poem
A lurking shadow lies
Darkened eyes gleam
In the dust, it spies
Under
The canopy of dreams
Sharpening teeth
As if they were blades
An emptied sheath
A lovely serenade
Forming schemes
Under
The canopy of dreams
The pursuit of a touch
To make skin icy cold
With a frenzied clutch
You can be controlled
If it rips the seams
Under
The canopy of dreams
