Finally Loving Myself

At last I have become pride
I have gotten rid of the poison between my thighs
I have risen above my expectations to become a prize

It took a while
But I am finally loving myself to a smile 
I am no longer walking; I am running a mile
And it feels good to be free

Free from his grip
Not just the one upon my hip
But the one that kept telling me I could take a hit

Not a physical one, No
But a mental one, Yes
He stripped me from the "S" on my chest

I couldn't save myself anymore
I would hurt myself and my core
But no more 

I am finally loving myself
That's something I couldn't have imagined in the past
But since I have my pride at last
I feel like I am on the right path

My aura has changed
It has become one of strength with no rage
Power released from its cage

Not like the caged bird that sang because it was not free
But how the rose that grew from concrete conquered its dream
I'm moving on to greater things
