Your Kiss

When the sunshine's warmth upon my face,
I think of a most beautiful, magical place.
Rolling meadows of grassy knolls.
Trees with leaves that never fall.
Split rail fences cross the horizon.
Lillies that grow up tall, as their rising.
Colorful blossoms of yellow and white,
pushing their way up to the sunlight.
A beautiful sight, to the beholder.
Even more so with the sun on your shoulders.
A paradise of peaceful bliss.
What could ever be better than this?
Your kiss.

A Fathers Love

I knew you before you were born, but not what you would become.
I saw you open your eyes, for the very first time.
I gave you your name, and called you mine.
I told you stories every night, and sang sweet lullabies.
I tucked you in your bed.
I did not always give you what you wanted; but what was best for you instead.
I prayed for God to watch over you, and protect you everyday.
Even when I knew It was over, for you I decided to stay.
I told you corny jokes. I fixed things you broke.
I watched you grow, and gave you space. I solved your problems,
forgave your mistakes. I paid all the bills.
I marveled at your skills.
I fought with you, for you. I cried with you, for you.
Now as tears roll down my cheek writing words you will never read,
I am left with nothing, no words do we speak.
How did I let this happen, how was I so weak?
The strong man I once was, now brought down to his knees.
I think of my dear Father, and what he is to me, It is more than I can bear, knowing that I'll never be....
that source of strength and wisdom, a person to which you can lean,
someone that you can trust, someone you can tell everything.
The man my Father was and is to me. Through all of my faults, disappointments, shortcomings, failures,
failed promises, things you remember that I cant even think of....
One thing will never ever change my son.....
thats a Father's unending eternal love.
Gladly will i lay down my life for you, without hesitation.
You are and will always be, my most wonderful creation. More precious to me are you, than anything on earth.
No matter what you think of me, in my thoughts you are always first.
I hope that when someday, this cruel world
takes me away, you will have at least one fond memory of us,
one nice thing to say. I may not have been, the best
Father in your eyes, but to me you'll always be, the best son a dad could see.
I love you to the moon the stars the sun and back, and even farther than that. Im sorry for all the things I did wrong.
If you ever read this letter, perhaps it will make things just a little bit better.
And one day maybe, when your a man, you'll have a son of your own, and then you'll understand....
just what you mean to me. I love you for eternity.

Some Things

Some things in this world are not to be revealed.
They are the things that one should only feel.

Like the breeze that blows, in between,
the front and back door window screens.
Or the way I feel when you surprise me with a kiss,
there is no better feeling I know, than this.

Some things in this world are better left unsaid,
Like thoughts that we know shouldnt leave our head,
Promoting ourselves when we should compliment others instead.

Some things in this world are undeniable.
Like the sunrise at dawn, or dandelions on my lawn,
I know it will happen, though unjustifiable.

Some things in this world are fleeting...scarce.
Like the pale moon glowing on the still waters edge.
Or the orange and purple clouds in a summer sunset.

Many of these things are beautiful, Its true.
But to me, there is nothing I could see, as beautiful as you...

Happy Place

Gray is the sky with clouds that fill my mind.
Slowly they clear and give way to sunshine.
The coffee filled air gives me reason to rise.
It kills the leftovers from the night, and sharpens the blade that slices thru life.
Gentle breezes blow through my window.
I look to the trees, the forest is calling me.
How beautiful to my sight.
The birds they sing to me from the trees. My ears are treated to natures song.
Still waters on the pond bring such calm to my soul.
It is the place I love so. It is the place i love to go.
Just a man the trees the weeds and his soul.
Mother nature takes control.
Freedom from all things is what she brings.
To live this life awake and alive is a blessing.
In the woods so much moreso.

For No One

There has to be someone,
when love comes for no one.
There has to be somewhere,
in the middle of nowhere.
There has to be something,
where there is nothing.
There has to be.
For you and me.

For no one to love,
someone must come.
For nowhere to flee,
somewhere must be.
For nothing to have,
something must be had.
For you and for me,
These things i believe.
