Mr. Nobody

Mr. Nobody sittin' in his empty chair
His eyes hazed over like he always stares
His laces untied and danglin' low
His sunglasses flipped up just for show

With a bleedin’ pen in his hand
And chipped coffee cup in the other
He looks on his desk at a picture of his mother.
With her hair in a bun and a pen on her ear
Standin' next to her other boy, the one with the beer

But Mr. Nobody ain't close to them in that photo
He was by the window listen' to that darn radio
And his Old Man is a blur in the background
Like most of his life he was hard to be found
But Mr. Nobody ain't close to them in that photo
No, he was by the window listen' to that darn radio

And the woman behind the camera that you can't see
Because that was how she always said she wanted to be
Was Nobody's sister practicin' her photography
She didn’t mind missin’ this family moment,
As their family didn’t look like they were missin’ a component.

But that’s the only picture Mr. Nobody’s got
Though not happy, it still can’t be bought.
He keeps tellin’ himself not to get rid of it,
Because he’ll never be able to revisit it.

I Once Wondered

I once wondered about the world’s normalities
This was before school and endless vanities.
When I was young enough to lie on the ground
And look at the world and what I had found.

I once wondered about the stars,
Ancient kings and extinguished tsars
Men and women marrying out of their class
Like Cinderella, prince and shoe of glass.

I once wondered where the clouds were heading
If they used evaporated water as their bedding
And when they lie down the rain would fall
Not that it would bother me at all.

I once wondered about myself
If when I’m older I would remember how I felt
When in the morning I would lie on the ground
And look the world and what I had found.

I Forgot His Laugh

I don’t have all my memories
Ive salvaged some,
Ive sold some,
Ive swallowed some.
And ive even stole some.

But in my sleep
Was a sound that I would keep,
Something soothing,
Something moving,
Something sonorous
Like a gospel chorus.

That echoed enthusiastically
From the wooden pews
To the heavenly balcony
That rang through the ancient halls
And bounced playfully off the walls
And all of its glorious rapture
My mind would zealously capture.

But I can’t remember now,
That so familiar sound,
That was taken away from me,
Torn right out of my memory.

I wonder if my father would bare some wrath,
If he found out that I’d forgotten his laugh.

The Return

Five seconds after I told him he was loved,
Four tears in my eyes as we both hugged.
Three years since he last held my hand,
Two people in a love, and identically brand.
One lifetime to spend in this world,
And no more loneliness for me to hoard.

Liam's Eyes

I wish you could see them
I’ll have to paint a picture;
They are the eyes of Liam,
Like the ocean, only richer.

There is more than depth
There is more than color
For you see his eyes
Are like no other.

They are so captivating
So invigorating
That they pull me under
Robbing my breath,
Softening the thunder,
And silencing the rest.

Stunningly misty,
Dangerously sheik,
Undoubtedly sexy
Leaving me humbled and weak.

They put me in a trance
The world around me stops,
As it will take but one glance
For that bubble I’m in to pop.

So here I am drowning
What a peaceful way to die,
With beautiful silence pounding,
As I’m trapped in Liam’s eyes.

Everything Cuts Deeper These Days

Everything cuts deeper these days
We lose our mind over little things
It’s ourselves that have to pay
For a set of angelic wings

I’m starting to mistake stupidity
For the much anticipated serendipity

And though I’m cold and lost
I keep the tab of what it costs
To continue on this trail where
I hope that one day I’ll just get there.

Is the world only normal when I’m
Not looking? Or is there some odd
Recipe that god is cooking?

If only i had these answers,
If only there was some book
That held the cure to these cancers,
Id tell you where to look.

Still, everything cuts deeper these days
Our minds are lost in fantacies
It's the price we will all have to pay,
For our senceless vanities.

If I

If I cry I won’t say it’s your fault
And if I die know you had no part
For if I end before I start
Just know it was you who had my heart.
