My Past Was a Lie

I've screamed my throat dry
For someone to hear me.
But the hand that covered
MY mouth kept me away.
Lies were told in my ears
As I was held down, fighing
For a way free from this hell.
Tears weld in my eyes and
Were wiped away quickly.
But no one noticed because
I had to lie and I started to
Believe everything that
Came out of my mouth.
I wore a mask over my face
One that I had not created.
My emotions were what
I was told to wear.
I learned to survive and
Keep people distanced.
I've pushed everyone
Away when they were
Only trying to help.
But I was still not alone.
When I pushed them away
They only tried harder.
And now that I'm healed
They are the people that
I love and cherish the most.

No Hatred

Fire is in my soul.
Love is in my heart.
Courage is in my brain.
Forgiveness is in my eyes.
But there's not one once
Of hatred in my body.
