Omniscient

Tripping through life like it's just fantasy
I'm making things up as I go
Falling away from the waking dream
I break through illusions you hold
Learning to live all over again
I must remember to love
Even if I had everything else
The world is not enough

Dead Moths

Somehow, I missed the bigger picture
Staring at the Sun until my eyes begin to blister
I tried to see the light but I'm blinded by my own twisted visions
Barely living for my next fix of liquor
It's quicker to kill your free will
Than to search for a meaning
Daydreaming from my perch upon the windowsill
Stuck like a dead moth drawn to the light fixture
Casually watching as the bulb fades and flickers

Thought Pollution

Get back to the task at hand
You'll never go anywhere without a plan
I try to get by
As I'm going through life
Learning to be a better man
But I'm wandering without direction
I seem to be infected upon further inspection
Take a closer look
You can't learn in any book
What it means to be thrown in this world without protection
The helpless can not help themselves
They try to find what they need in someone else
It's thought pollution
To think there is no solution
If there's an answer, you'll find it in yourself
Speak your mind, thought is contagious
I don't know what to say as an inner war wages
Say what you will
I know knowledge can kill
But blind belief is just as dangerous
Soon other questions are raised
Raise your hand if you have something insightful to say
You can't imagine
Anything I can't fathom
So let's get those ideas out today

Eulogy

Sometimes we can't see the meaning
Beneath our life's events
Leading us to question
What it all means once again
I am blessed to have counted you
As one of my friends
Maybe we shall meet in the next life
After this one ends
I can't help wondering
What could have been?
A chance never taken
Seems riskier to me
Life is the canvas
Upon which we paint our dreams
Anything is possible
Create a masterpiece

Lucid Dream

Deeply dreaming, lucidity brings awareness
To share this love, I'd give you all if I could spare it
My heart bleeds upon my sleeve
When I wear it carelessly
The best thing would be for me to grin and bear it
Life experienced brings wisdom long gone
It's wrong of me to think that the weak cannot be made strong
Open wide your mind's eye
And take a look inside
Seeking inner peace, we find where we belong

Beaten Path

I stumbled down the beaten path
Where beaten men lay down
To try to find exactly what
Had beat these men to the ground
With every step I searched again
'Till I could stand no more
Now I am a broken man
Resting upon the floor
