Love

I keep hearing that you exist.
People say they see you-
They touch you.
They say you help them when depressed, sad and lonely.
They say you keep people together- forever.
Some even say you do not work all the time;
You have a tendency to fade away-
Only for a short time, however,
For you can return to set things back to norm.
I'm curious- love.
Do you really return?-
Do you really fade away?-
Do you really keep people together- forever?-
Do you really console the depressed, sad and lonely?-
For I am sad, lonely and depressed.
Will not you help me?
Why ignore me?-
Or forget me?
Why listen to what others have to say about me?
I tried to reach for you too-
You just could not see.
For sadness, depression and loneliness kept you blind;
Blind from watching my hands reach out to you...
You fell-
Long gone-
Never came back.
Do not worry-
I keep hearing that you exist.
Tis' true?-
Do you really-
Exist?

As My Math Tutor's Late

Looking from my desk,
One plus one equals two birds-
                    Chasing each other.

Of a Bad Ping-Pong Player

Playing Ping-Pong now,
The ball hits the glass- which the
                    murky pool shines through.

Stay Away

Du-Rag, braids, pierced ear,
Slang, sagging pants, walk with limp.
May I babysit?

Myth of Poverty

Poor black neighborhood,
Too much policing; All white
Neighborhoods are safe.

Of a Ping-Pong Tournament

The crowds heads moved left
To right- following the ball-
                    'Till it hit the floor.

As the Poor Man Crossed the Street To the Money Tree

The poor man crossing
Got hit by a long limo.
                    "So close," said the tree.

Of a Foggy Morning To Whitehall Ferry Terminal, Manhattan

Sitting- on the boat,
I am- intrigued by the- fog-
                    which- destroys- the world.

As the engines grate.
