The Pain Hidden In Her Eyes

Pain Hidden In Her Eyes

I look into the eyes 
Of the most beautiful person in the world
I see life, love and a giving spirit
I can also see a shadow so dark
And pain so deep no words can ever fully describe
Wounds that time may never truly heal
I wish I had the words to banish the shadows
Ease the pain and the ability 
To heal her wounded soul
In those eyes that always bring joy to my life
I wish I could wipe her tears away and
Make her forget all the bad memories
Just wipe them away like footprints in the sand
After high tide has come and gone
I know; however, that I am no god
No omnipotent being with the power
To change the past 
So I pray every day that I can
In some way bring just a little joy
Into her life
Ease some of her pain and to let her know
That there is still a rock to hang on to
A safe harbor in case of a storm
And; yes, someone who does truly care
Without reservations or demands 
Who loves her and would be totally lost
Without her in this otherwise empty life.

Faith Love and Grace

Faith Love and Grace

What are faith, love and grace
Love and grace are gifts from the Eternal Father God
All that is required to obtain these gifts is faith 
You do not need to earn these gifts
They are given freely to everyone who is willing to accept them
In the Gospel according to John; Chapter 3 verse16 states:
“ For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son,
So that EVERYONE who believes in him might not perish
But might have eternal life.”
I have come to learn this through some VERY hard lessons
Sometimes these lessons are difficult to learn
But once experienced and learned they are truly awe inspiring
Who can believe that they are loved by anyone
Until they come to realize, believe, and accept
These very simple yet life altering truths
Have faith and learn to accept the gifts that are there for the taking
And all you need to do is have faith in the Heavenly Father.

Thank You to a Friend

How do you say thank you to a friend
Someone who has seen you at your best
And at your worst and did not walk away
How do you say thank you to someone
Who has given you a shoulder to cry on 
And also someone who has laughed with you
So hard that you both nearly cried
How do you say thank you to someone 
Who has called you out on all of your mistakes
But then gave you words of encouragement
How do you say thank you to someone 
Who is willing to just sit silently and listen 
Without judgement or criticism while you
Poured out you heart to them 
How do you say thank you to someone
Who means more to you 
Than they will ever know because
There are not enough words, thoughts, or gestures
To explain the impact she has had in your life
I hope this will give her a small idea of what 
She has meant to me

For a Special Friend

For a Special Friend

To the closest friend ever
Love and friendship can be so
Beautiful and inspiring
There is no emotion that comes close
Yet it can be the most painful experience 
Anyone can carry
The beautiful side is like a garden of roses
Nurtured with such exquisite care
And in the same moment
Can be as painful
As a crown of thorns around a heart broken into 
So many pieces they can never be put back together
I know because I am in this bright and dark place
And yet I wouldn’t trade it for all the gold, silver,
And diamonds in the world  
If I am  wrong then let be so because
It is my cross to bear until the sun has burned out
And the world is nothing but dust.
I hope she will understand
And not be hurt or offended or angry
Because I love her with all my heart
And value the friendship respect anyone can imagine.

Emotional Illusions

Solitude
Love
Happiness
Compassion
All are myths 
These words are empty and meaningless
They do not apply to this life
Or…should I say 
This existence
For without these emotions
Life itself is 
Empty and devoid of meaning
The only true emotions are
Pain
Sadness
Hate
Loneliness and
Loss in all it’s forms

You have two sides to your life
You are a priceless coin that no one can
Ever truly possess or control
You shine like a new born star 
Bright and radiant 
Giving light and hope to everyone you touch
You also have a dark side when you are angry or hurt
You give your heart without asking for anything in return
You can also tear a person’s soul apart if they ever hurt you
You are as hard as a diamond
While also being soft as the fur on a kitten
You are a spring day when happy
And a raging storm when upset
You are as strong and independent as a redwood tree
That has stood five hundred years
While being as fragile as a new born infant

Loving You

Loving You

Loving you is like being addicted to a drug
It is such a rush to experience and just
Too painful when you are not there
Loving you is like a miracle sent from heaven
To let me know that there is something
In this bleak and desolate world worth living for 
Loving you is like a slow acting poison
It kills slowly and softly and yet I would not
Die in any other way 
Loving you is like being at the top of Mt. Everest
The view is breathtaking and there is nothing 
To compare it with
Loving you can be so devastating when you are in pain
Because all I can do is be there to hold you and
try to ease your suffering  
I can only hope that you do not mistake my words
Because I would not change these feelings 
For anything in the world

Lover’s Cross

I know that my love for you
Will not…or can not
Be as I had hoped it could be
I know that our friendship
Is something special
Something that few ever find
My heart yearns to spend
All of eternity with you
But if this is all that is fated to be
There is nothing I can do
But bear this lover’s cross for you
Please don’t think less of me because
My shoulders are able to carry the weight
Until the world ends
And I know that I am the luckiest
And most blessed man to ever have lived

Ambivalence

Should I continue to live
Or should I just die
There is no joy or happiness
No love
Only feeling alone 
I don’t feel anything
No ambition or dreams
No motivation or desires
Only an empty and numb feeling
That goes on day after day
Stuck in my room
No light or darkness
Only a continuous dull grey cloud
That hangs over me

Lost

I stand in a void that is so deep and dark
Looking for a familiar face
Finding only cold stares and uncaring looks
No one is here to give direction
No one is here to give comfort or love
There is nothing to cling to
Nothing to drive the icy loneliness
Out of my broken heart
No one to piece together my shattered soul
All I have are days filled with emptiness
And nothing to show that anything will change
