For a Special Friend To the closest friend ever Love and friendship can be so Beautiful and inspiring There is no emotion that comes close Yet it can be the most painful experience Anyone can carry The beautiful side is like a garden of roses Nurtured with such exquisite care And in the same moment Can be as painful As a crown of thorns around a heart broken into So many pieces they can never be put back together I know because I am in this bright and dark place And yet I wouldn’t trade it for all the gold, silver, And diamonds in the world If I am wrong then let be so because It is my cross to bear until the sun has burned out And the world is nothing but dust.
