Say Goodbye To the Dying Light

She's seen the little mass
Her baby in the shattered glass
Oh her mind cannot cope
But instead of the knife, a rope
To take her own life
And leave her husband without a wife
Because she is no longer a mother
And she cannot have another
So she is writing a letter
And feels as light as a feather
She says "I just want to be free"
So dead is the only way to be
Soon the day will turn to night
As she says goodbye to the dying light

Never Good Enough

Never good enough for anyone it seems
The only time I am is at night in my dreams
And people tell me what I think isn't real
but no one has realized that what I think is what I feel
so when I think about death or about if I die
Or maybe getting drunk or just a little high
Maybe I want to get rid of the numbness and feel some pain
Because right now, I can't even feel the rain
That lands on my face in the middle of the storm
And it's freezing outside but I still feel warm
So I begin to think that I can fake it
Fake my happiness and then stage my fall
And then there will be no pain once I hit the ground
Because my heart will stop beating and I will have ended it all

Double Life

Her double life she cannot escape
But this life does not involve a mask or cape
It does include a knife she uses everyday
And her thoughts always looking for a way
To leave the world she had learned to hate
But she knows that she must wait
For the right moment when no one is at the house
And she doesn't have to be as quiet as a mouse
Wait until she has finished things with the people in her life
That have forced her to use that bloodied knife
Until she has written that dreaded letter
Because she knows that her mother can't make it any better
So she goes to her room and hugs her dog, Daisy
Then her vision begins to go a little hazy
Because she had just downs those four bottles of pills
And she knows that the pills aren't the only thing that kills
Although the pills may be what put her in the hole
It's the people behind them that killed her soul

She Will Soon Be Dead

All while fighting and trying to breathe
Another part of the mind just wanted to leave
But her body kept pushing and trying to stay
While all her thoughts began to drift away
Her mind kept racing and would not be quiet
All day, every day, there was a riot
Until one day when the yelling stopped
And all this happened when her body dropped
She could feel the rope begin to tighten
And all her worries had begun to slighten
Because she would soon be dead
And all her painful thoughts would leave her head

The Pain Was Deeper

The light in her eyes seemed to go dark
And I look down at her arms and see a mark
But the poem was deeper than we could see
She looked sad, and we just let her be
Because her mind never stopped
Until her body dropped
And after one single shot
Alive for another day, she was not

One Little Lie

Her vision was blurring
And her speech was slurring
And all she could ever think
Was how she was on the brink
Of falling off the mountain
Or drowning in the fountain
And she couldn't keep from telling this one little lie
"No. I don't want to die"

Too Many Dark Nights

The day was ending
but her pain just beginning
Her thoughts were threatening
And her screams were deafening
The lights went low
But her mind started to go
Her journey had been long
And everything she said was wrong
No one had noticed her thoughts
Are what truly tied the knots
Of the rope that was hung
On that one little rung
That would take a girl's light
After too many dark nights

Seeing the Light

Seeing the light
Is always the worst part
Because it makes the lungs breathe
And it revives the heart
It makes your brain
Start to run
And forces your hand
To let go of the gun
but then the light starts to fade
And your happiness starts to go
Yet you want to hold on
For just one more show
You buy yourself
An extra hour
Before your own mind
Begins to devour
The life you imagines
For yourself and others
Picturing your own suicide
Which will kill your mothers
And then with nothing left to say
You take your last breath
And your mind thinks to itself
"You have forced your own death"
