My sisters and brothers
I start a journey today that
Leads to shadows and doors closed
I embark on a journey no living soul
Could care to escort a living dead
Dead I was declared with no hope of survival
Surgical means failed to
Bring me back to life
A wish hoped for
Killed a pending dream
This virus killed a pending dream
A dream of successes hoped for
For I am to sick
This virus so cruel
Having no mercy on an innocent body
I gave myself over treatment days and nights
Spent in a cancer treatment facility
Needles penetrating my body
All in the name of treatment
Oh...how much longer X2
Should I wait for the day of victory
It seems it's long coming
Dreams deminished
Oh...how cruel can this virus be
Having no mercy on a living dead
Wished to arise
Like the sun would every morning
Rescue me X2
From this dreadful virus
As I sink into a tunnel with a wish to return

I am mahlatse thobejane
A young girl that is called luck
Luck that has graced the thobejane family
My words flow like a silent beat
A silent beat that is heard down my ancestral linage
A linage that flows of silent poets
that speak of a voice
As sweet as the nights silence
Silence that is heard as I grace the stage
My poetic instrument realised
A great explosion
I have graced the stage
As I walk my life's journey
Feeling as light as a paper
Blown side to side by the precious winds of life
