Margaret Goodson Poem
She sighs and closes her eyes
For she knows the signs are right
The darkened skies
Signaling her endless night
She caught a brief moment
The sun shone through so bright
She doesn't know where the time went
But she has not the strength to fight
Her heart got lost among the clutter
Her love for him went so very deep
To her soul that was all aflutter
But the love was not hers to keep
She tried to hold it in her hands
But it burned the skin as she touched it
Though she could not understand
How her heart could so easily submit
She gave up who she was and all that she had
She tried to save her soul
Yet in the end her love drove her mad
And her heart, once fiery, was now cold.
She sighed and closed her eyes
For she knew the signs were right
The darkened skies
Signaled her endless night.

Margaret Goodson Poem
Shattered light
Broken by the darkness of the night
Shattered innocence
I cry to you and ask of you patience
Shattered hopes
So many times being placed on the ropes
Shattered dreams
I wonder why no one can hear my screams
Shattered heart
My world slowly crumbles apart
Shattered soul
A once vibrant life now grown cold
Shattered mind
I wonder how the world can be so unkind
Shattered Life
Take it from me please just turn the knife
Shattered me
A prayer said "Please let this the end be."
Shattered
Broken, bruised, and battered
I offer up a silent prayer
For all those to whom life is not fair.
Shattered lives and shattered hearts
So many people falling from together apart.

Margaret Goodson Poem
She had the beauty of a rose
The voice of an angel singing
She gave her caring to those
That she knew and cared for all
Her heart she kept reserved for one man
Who gave her his love in return
He offered her his hand
And yet expected nothing of her
He was her knight in shining armor
There if she should ever fall
Ready to be there for her
All she ever need do is call
She knew her love for him was true
For her heart felt so much joy
To hear him say " I Love You"
To know she was more than just a toy
Two hearts coming together as one
Loving each other so much
A love lasting where all others had gone
They stood together with a love that was so strong

Margaret Goodson Poem
Come wrap me in your darkness
Let me breath in your scent
Let me lay here in your madness
Slipping into a cold descent
Come whisper in my ear
Let me hear your words
Draw me in and hold me near
My visions become blurred
Come let me cry to you
Tell you of the horrors within
Your darkness pulls me in anew
The pain ending yet beginning again
Come tell me of your wishes
What of your plans for me
Your lips speaking with bewitching kisses
I have seen all that I need to see
Come wrap me in your darkness
I know that you would never lie
Let me lay here in my madness
Slipping into a cold descent to die
