A Man In Pain

Sometimes I feel like giving up
Because people have already given up on me.
Looking inward for hope.
Eyeing outward for reassurance.
Maybe my eyes cannot see.
I see no one; blackness cloaks my mind.
The light at the end of the tunnel leisurely disappearing.
Expectations quickly ending.

Sometimes I feel like dying
Life has no other key besides the one no one can see.
My heart is bruised, bleeding to death.
Because no one see’s my worth.
Is it a crime to be born?
To have aspirations, to have your own sentiments.
Is being a child a passport to slavery?
Did I apply to work this job with no pay?

Sometimes I feel like getting naked.
Completely undressing my heart,
So that people know how I feel.
So that they understand that this pain is real.
You look at me and you may envy my life.
I have everything I need except this.
Joy unfriends me at times I need her most.
My mind is in another place; I think I’m lost.

In This Life

In this life, I’ve seen that we are pretty much the same
We have the same opportunities and we all have the ability to choose
Here in Zimbabwe, there are many who share my name
But in a race, we differ because one of us will win and the others lose

In this life, I’ve seen that we all have the same time, 24 hours each day
It is enough for everyone to do their duties and focus on what’s prime
But I don’t know why when we have the same allocation, we almost always delay
And there we differ, because some are punctual but others procrastinate all the time

In this life, I’ve seen that parents have no time for their kids
Always on their phones typing, at work or watching television
Of course, we focus less on their wants, and more on their needs
But they need their parents just to talk, play and do homework or revision

In this life, I’ve seen that we all need love
The love of parents, of friends, of spouses and the love of God
But we laugh at street kids, we leave them to starve
We don’t want to unite with others, all we want is discord

Lets Spread Love To All

Have you ever considered that it could have been you with no legs?
Yet you laugh at the one who struggles as he is walking.
Your laughter, the example of sanctified mocking.
He now lives in acceptance of the fact that he has no friends.
Yet it’s in your love that his happiness depends.
Your compassion he longs for, no matter how small.
Let’s treat each other fairly, lets spread love to all.

Have you ever considered that it could have been you with no eyes?
But you fail to consider the blind as they are begging in the street.
Buying chips and chocolates, sweets and all kinds meat.
And guess what? He now curses God asking why he is blind.
Yet God gave you the means to help but you don’t mind.
Whether rich or poor, lets show that we care.
We need not show partiality, let’s be fair.

Have you ever considered that it could have been you with no parents?
Yet you leave street kids to look for food in dumpsters.
And you complain when they now turn into gangsters.
Some take them and force them to work a job with no pay.
The example of cruelty, what more can I say.
Even ignorance is equal to cruelty. Is it not?
“Love your neighbor as yourself”, from the Bible I quote.

Give to the poor, care for the widows, and all the disadvantaged, that’s your call.
Is it not fair that God keeps you well so that you can do the same to others, even to this day?
So, from today.
Let’s show love to all.

Don'T Give Up On God

Have you ever felt life giving in to life's trials
Jesus gave his life, he died on the cross
Have you ever felt like giving up facing Satan's wiles
God gave his only son, for your gain in his loss

Have you ever felt like temptation was too much to bear
Well Jesus faced the tempter but he never gave in
Have you ever felt like it was hard to escape Satan's snare
Jesus used the word in the wilderness & he did win

Whilst we are still on this earth, Satan will never stop tempting
But that doesn't mean you have to stop believing
"Call unto me", God is saying
Get on your knees and start praying

Count it all joy when you face various trials
This is all done to test your belief
Pray to God and stand the devil's wiles
And you will conquer and go to heaven where there's joyous relief.

Circumstances Define Us All

Yes, you sleep with the boss, you know it’s wrong
And now you are in an office where you don’t belong
Enjoying as you may, you are not able to see
That the boss is now a ruler over your work and your life
And now you are the boss’ secretary and his second wife
Why? Because circumstances define us all.

You get ready for the race, you are sure you will win
Sprint racing is something you really know
You make a sprint for the finish but then you kick a rock
You fall down in anguish, everyone is in shock
You lose the race not because you were slow
But why? Because circumstances define us all.

You are so eager to pass but you don’t know a thing
So, you sleep with the lecturer and he shows you the test
You are so happy, you know you will get a good score
But after the tests, the lecturer still wants more
And now you are a slave, he sends request after request
Why? Because circumstances define us all

The doctor comes in with the news, you are HIV Positive
You stand amazed and in shock, you strike a pause
You never slept with anyone, all the emotions in your head rise
But it was by circumstance, it’s not something you chose
Is it your parents, your spouse? Who told you lies?
You cry why? Because circumstances define us all

God Is Not Asleep

God is not asleep my friends, I say God is not asleep
Pour out your heart to God, pour it out mourn and weep
For tears are a language that he can understand
He gave us a promise, he is with us till the end

God is not asleep my friends, I say God is not asleep
Why are you hiding your fears from him, those troubles you want to keep
Have faith in God, he will hear you, call in his name today
Don't lose hope, don't get weary, get on your knees and pray

God is not asleep my friends, I say God is not asleep
Pray to him for forgiveness of sin, he will forgive sin, no matter how deep
Pray to him to free you from sin, sin is deadly not fun
When he has delivered you, dont boast in yourself over the victories God has won

Sing for joy my friends, I say sing praises to God
Thank him for the answered prayers, our King and Lord
Even in prayers he hasn't answered we have his promise, don't despair
You might be asking,"Does Jesus care?" Oh yes, he does care.

True Love

True love is when you don’t look at your wife’s past.
But you envision the future, trying to make the relationship last.
It is when you fight and sometimes cut the string between you, the rope.
But always come back to each other and never lose hope.

True love is when your spouse doesn’t talk to you for a day.
They were angry yesterday and had too much to say.
But when morning dawns you realise you can’t live without your love.
That one day of silence feels the same as having food but choosing to starve.

True love is when you choose to listen to your wife.
Not necessarily because she knows too much but because she is your life.
And if “your life” is sad, then you will spend the day in a bad mood.
Listen to me all husbands, love a woman as you should.

True love is when you say sorry for making your wife cry.
And she doesn’t know why you repay her love with sorrow. She keeps asking why.
But say a sincere apology and soon your wife tears will turn into tears of gladness.
And you will both laugh afterwards about that past moment of madness.

True love is when you choose to forgive even if it would hurt.
Because God is love and he says we should, forgive your wife, it’s never too late.
True love is when you look at your wife, and love her afresh from the start.
After you read this poem, please my brother, go and mend her broken heart.

Ask From the Elders

A thief is a guy who steals your heart.
Who only likes your from outside but never really loved from the start.
As one of his trophies you are put on his shelf.
Then he goes away looking for another fish to catch.
Whilst you are lying to yourself that he is the perfect match.
Yet you only looked at how much money he has.
And never really looked at his past affairs.
But what will you do when the money is gone.
Ask from the elders, the results of such relationships are known.

A thief is a girl who loves you for what you have.
Who loves you in word but says to herself,” I’m not what you deserve”.
She moves around looking for other suitors.
And you are led to believe that you are meant to be
When she goes outside she puts you in a pocket so that no one can see.
Because she’s afraid that her friends will laugh at her because of your looks.
Especially after the praises she gives herself, the stories she cooks.
But what will do when you catch her with another man at last.
Ask from the elders, relationships like that end badly and fast.

A thief is a person who takes this poem and says it is his.
To go around boasting to the little girls he wants to please.
Relationships can never be based on outward pleasing.
If he says he loves you first ask her the reason.
And do not listen to the flattering words coming from her lips.
Ask from the elders, they will give you some helpful tips.

Mental Pain

Look at me
I’m stuck between love and hate.
Waiting on God to decide my fate.
His answer unhurried.
I’m getting worried.
My faith evaporates like thin ice.
This love has eaten such a huge slice
Of my heart.

Stare at me if you must.
Wondering if love made me blind.
The path is so dark in my mind.
I can’t see.
Enlighten me.
How do I find the route to her heart?
The two locations are so far apart.
It could take years.

Gaze at my insanity.
Talking to myself, arguing with my heart.
Telling him it’s too late, let her depart.
My heart replies.
“Your decision is not wise”.
Now I’m stuck, I don’t know what to do.
Where do I start, I don’t have a clue?
Stress meet depression.

Without my medicine, this wound won’t heal.
She was my morning and evening pill.
Reminding myself why I loved her at first.
So much mental pain, let me take a rest.

Introduction To Tawanda Muzavazi: Who Am I

I am a man just like any other.
Currently living with my father and mother.
I have high hopes for the future ahead.
Things I dream of whilst lying in my bed.

I am on course to complete a degree in IT.
Though it’s still uncertain what the future may be.
With my mathematical mind, it was easy to learn.
A positive mind always says, "Yes, I can".

All I know is that the future is in God's hands.
And as we go on, it all depends.
Whether I trust God, depending fully on him.
Or I have confidence in man, to complete my dream.

This is my poem, Tawanda Muzavazi is my name.
There are many with that name, but trust me we are not the same.
So, until next time, this is all I had to say
Goodday.
