In This Life
In this life, I’ve seen that we are pretty much the same
We have the same opportunities and we all have the ability to choose
Here in Zimbabwe, there are many who share my name
But in a race, we differ because one of us will win and the others lose
In this life, I’ve seen that we all have the same time, 24 hours each day
It is enough for everyone to do their duties and focus on what’s prime
But I don’t know why when we have the same allocation, we almost always delay
And there we differ, because some are punctual but others procrastinate all the time
In this life, I’ve seen that parents have no time for their kids
Always on their phones typing, at work or watching television
Of course, we focus less on their wants, and more on their needs
But they need their parents just to talk, play and do homework or revision
In this life, I’ve seen that we all need love
The love of parents, of friends, of spouses and the love of God
But we laugh at street kids, we leave them to starve
We don’t want to unite with others, all we want is discord
