An Unexpected Visit

Life like a cancer grows;
But not here below;
People cheer for sadness;
And eerily smile, ear to ear.

See the waves crash like falling ash;
Covering the skin of all near,
Watch the people never ask,
“What’s it like to see clear?”

Don’t wait for me in the end;
Run ‘till you can’t,
Wait for nothing and never show your strength bend;
And never let it snap.

Now as I watch a city burn,
I feel the people’s sorrow,
Never ceasing to weep,
Never waiting to wolow.

This is a city of pain,
And though we feel the fire,
We’ll never stop shouting,
Even if we grow tired.

Death can’t discriminate,
It takes, and takes, and takes;
And when you ask it to stop,
It won’t go away.

Heartbeats stop,
Bodies drop,
Children scream,
And birds don’t preen.

Without horror or fear,
I stand alone,
In a city of bodies,
Right outside my home.

What Is Reality

What are you? I ask.
A never-ending cycle of pain and sadness?
The blood runs cold, where we choose to dance.

Bringing my soul to a party and beginning to gamble.
In what way may i stay safe?
And not allow my life to turn to shambles.
Perhaps i should just run...and never cease to strafe far away from this dangerous place.

In a place where sound has no vibration,
And where sight has no light…
I begin to ponder the many stumbles in my life.

Why do you judge so harshly?
If i make the simplest mistake i’m shunned for eternity!
A historic hierarchy that will never be broken!
And not a soul nor epiphany can change that.

A disturbed body can’t make a broken soul new...how would it even make sense?
It’s not something you hear at night,
And it’s not something that can be seen at night.
It’s a cold and it’s a shattered brain.
That can no longer think for itself…

Thank you society...
For showing me just how cruel the world can really be.
Thank you also…
For finally not lying to me.

An Odd Calling

Watch me fall,
See me die.
Admire my final cry.

“Save me….Forgive me….”
Those are the words i scream.
Spirits whispering sinister thoughts,
Which oddly appeal to me.

I can’t find pleasure and success among people,
so perhaps i shall take my leave.
Society’s disappointment is one much larger than me.

Don’t tear your robes and curtains,
Just because i am gone.
You are left with everything else,
And all those who were wrong.

Spilling verbal rocks will not bring reconciliation to my soul,
Those who can’t fight shall live in darkness.
He who may not hold a bloody bowl,
Shall hold my memories that no one might know.
