Memoir Poem

A journey of this finite existence,
Much turmoil, the strength of the tide
Rubble remains, broken fragments
lingering specks merging, leaving a mass
destruction, damage, pain, hurt, ache,
A person altered too much
Power of gross festering proportion.
Escape from the suffocation none too soon,
Withering was almost complete.
Finally, new birth of life and free
More peaceful continuation,
still places of grief, loss and sad.
A rock to lean on, stronger than tides,
A pillar, never faltering, no stumbles,
Determined to oust demons that linger,
the control that has eaten away
more than one and their worth.
Even when testing of solidity over and over?.
Always incessantly chipping the mass,
breaking the bonds, sliver them back
weakening links, allowing calm in,
cohesion of self, value of me,
Letting salt wash over gently,
?Shown always, no constraints needed.
Even slow healing is hope.
