Pair of Hands

Come here they said, we'll keep you happy,
A pair of hands came to touch me,
With a promise of happiness,
To pick something else had left,
I wonder how switching families,
Would make me happy,
But their eyes gleamed a different light,
Shining in support of what they said,
But what about my bed, my toys, my games,
Would they want me to leave this place?
I hace a house already,
A family of 100,
The bed I need, and two meals a day,
Then what about you should fascinate me,
Why would I leave 100 pe to get two,
How and why would you pick and choose,
Out of so many of them,
Why should I come with you,
I am a kid not a commodity,
Let me go,
Just then a pair of hands,
Pulled me into a hug,
A touch, a tear, I haven't felt this way before,
She smiled at me and said words I didn't get,
Looked at me the way I looked at my favourite toy,
And in the blink of an eye, I had decided for life,
That maybe she was taking me like a toy,
But atleast I was her favourite one.

Alarm

For in the morning dew,
a freshness I see.
When through the open window cold air gushes in,
some kind of positivity it brings.
The rising sun, the brand ambassodor of hope,
brings about a new cheer to life.

In the blink of an eye,
When I am reminded of night,
A cloud of fear takes upon me.
I am reminded of the corner of the room where I sat and cried.
My hands start to tremble again.
Again was the beast of lonileness knocking my door

For when the sorrow of life,
flowed down the cheeks every night,
for only the walls of the house had heard me sob.

Like little girl I wished,
I could run to my dad and cry,
and complain about the world being so mean.
I wish to hear him say all is fine,
because all these years I have know my superhero never lied.
.But standing by the window miles apart from him,
I know I need to wipe my own tears,
and hide my own scars.
And get up and buckle up for work.
because the alarm has already snoozed twice.

That Last Dusk

The sun was beginning to touch the sea,
The distance of the day,had started to cease.

His eyes shone in the orange light,
Tears in his eyes made him loose clear sight.

Today was the last time he could see it all,
For the priest had predicted today's dawn would mark his last breath.

Silent fears clouded his head,
How everyday will his grandson go to bed?
Will the wife be able to manage all the money?
Worries of all kind had made his last day less sunny.

The day was over, he closed his eyes,
Time to wave the world a goodbye.
Like a baby he cried himself to sleep that night,
Because he knew the sun wont rise for him again.

8 hours of sleep and he opened his eyes,
Shock to see, he was still alive,
How could the priest ever go wrong?
Probably i have become a ghost now.
:')

The Frog In the Well

I talk to new face, and run different races,
And visit new places and I still have a restless soul..
I will imagine of the fairy
And the house of the devil,
The cold of the waterfall,
And the hot of the sun,
I will day dream about castles,
And wonder how the beggars live.
I like the ethnic beauty of a saree,
I like the length of the shorts i wear.
I dream about a perfect wedding,
And the perks of a bachelor life.
I like the idea of surprise at every turn,
And I love the monotonous sight of the walls of my room,
I fantasize about the thrill of traveling,
And I can't get over the comfort of my bed.
I will shut my eyes and visit world's you have never seen,
I will talk to faces that might never exsist,
I will go to places that are far from real,
I will cry over losses and be cheer over victories,
Both ofcourse all in my head.
For i can talk to you and say you're the best,
But well who knows I might compare you to a three legged dinosaur.
For all i meant to say is I am a restless soul,
For the walls of the world can't stop the imaginations of this soul,
You can't put me in a box and tell me this is all,
For i am that frog in a well who is way too eager to see the outside world.

Again

Those blinking fairy lights
The sugar coated treats,
The smell of baked cookies,
And the little gummy bears.
The pillows puffed up,
The magazines faned out,
The TV screen clean,
And the remote not missing.
Mugs of hot chocolate,
Waiting to be served ,
And the sound of the oven,
Beeping in the kitchen.
Napkins folded in swan,
Matching the brown of the couch.
There are potatoes mashed,
And chicken cooked,
A little ham, a little yam,
A glass of warm milk,
And orange juice if you please!
There is chocolate for the kids,
Rum for you and me,
The room’s a little warm ,
There is snow on the windowsill,
And an old frail mother,
Sitting in an armchair,
Looking at the door with longing eyes,
Eyes that say,
Come home son ,
It’s Christmas again ,
The 17th one they say,
Since the day you walked away.

No Explanation

Those cries on the street still resonate in my head,
When at midnight, someone had shattered the dead-air of the night.
A few frail figures weeping in pain,
The commotion on the street,
Their helpless screams.

On that night, when the moon didnt shine,
The evil God had knocked on the poor man’s door.
The car had stopped for 3 seconds I remember,
And a head peered out of the driver’s window.
Before you know the pedals were hit,
And I could hear the engine dying away in a distance.

There he lay on the street,
Surrounded by people who I think were family.
I ran down to the road,
While i called for help.

And I saw him breathe the final breath,
Before I heard the sirens blaze.
And the lady still sobbing,
Over the abruptness life had hit her with.

Dust Storms

Take my hand dear one,
This part of the trip will be tricky.

The trail’s a little steep,
The soil’s a little loose.

Big large rocks you hold for support,
Might as easily slip away with you.

See the sun paint the sky,
The colour of apocalypse.

And winds so strong make it impossible to miss,
The uncanny sound of an approaching dust storm.

To fear or to fight,
We must quickly decide.

As the dark begins to creep up from behind,
I can feel my skin coating with adrenaline.

Even if your knees get weak,
And your lungs give in

We must keep close,
We must keep moving.

The storm shall pass in a minute or few,
And we’ll then gaze at the world,
From 2000 meters altitude.
