God's Presence

God’s Presence,
like a wave crashing over me,
is all consuming,
and all revealing,
Christ is my mirror,
in a way,
He shows me,
 myself,
without him,
 my sin,
but steps out of the mirror,
into the human world,
as a humble servant of God,
and takes all my sin away,
and gives me,
his righteousness,
and,
his peace,
not of this world.

God’s Presence,
like a passion running through my veins,
shows me,
who I am,
saved by Him,
dwelling within me,
redeemed,
made clean by his blood.
Seen not as,
I used to be,
a sinner,
hopelessly hell-bound,
lonely lost,
but as I am now,
a beloved child of God,
a new creation,
guaranteed to live with Him for eternity!

Song of Praise To God

You are the God of the Wind,
You are the Great I am,
The sun and sky bow down before you.
   You are El HaShamayim,
 “Lord of the Heavens”.
Your love is steadfast.
Your grace is deeper than the sea.

You are omnipotent
   omniscient, and omnipresent.
You are great.
    You are El- Shaddai.
You are my comfort and
     my deliverance.

You are not revised,
You are and always will be eternal.
You are the One who calms the sea and the waves.
   You care for us.
You are El HaNe’eman
   you are the Faithful God.
You are the God of all creation,
You are the savior of my soul.

You are the God of the Mountains,
you are the God of the Rivers and Streams.
You are the God of America,
the land of the brave and the home of the free.
You are the God of Israel,
    the Holy Land.
You are the God of the Clouds,
    Altocumulus, Nimbostratus, and Cumulonimbus.

You are the God of Plants,
You are the God of the Flowers.
You are the God of Churches,
     Baptist, Methodist, Roman Catholic, etc….
You are the God of the Trees,
Pine, White Oak, Dogwood, Cherry Ornamental, etc…

Sword of the Dragon: Found Poem

Hiding, two steps back,
Golden helm on your head,
A slight bow,
smote blade against breastplate.
Jagged hills, clouds hiding a blue sky,
Distant screams of enemies and allies alike
 invade your hearing,
 Hope,
 The enemy doesn’t gain victory!

Watch!
White cape and grey beard, righteous prophet,
Pitch black dragon roared,
Draw your sword!
Light,
Shining through your blade
as if it were a diamond,
reflecting the blinding sun.

Your heart is stronger,
Hold your sword up high courageously,
Crystal blade sparkles,
Thunder rumbles and storm clouds roll in.
Zap!
Green lightning bolts strike near you.
Sorcery!
Bubbles of energy fall to the stoney ground,
The sparks grew, looking like it housed several men,
Nowhere to run and hide!
You, a powerful warrior, strong and mighty
refuses to back down,
Winged men fell from the sky,
Art’en!
Brown feathers shuddering,
Landed crouched on knees,
Dark wings folded,
Sickly gray skin quivers,
The Art’en charges!

Get ready!
Peace should reign,
Not this chaos,
With brethren fighting against brethren,
You grit your teeth,
Mercy, Mercy the Art’en cries.
You gently pick him up and carry him,
Hopefully you won’t live to regret it,
You are no better than he is.

Freely, give mercy,
Grant forgiveness from your heart,
Noble and true,
Humble and Honest,
The white dragon’s roar pierces through the silence,
Love good,
Hate evil,
The king has returned,
Darkness has been defeated!

I Am From

I am from For King and Country,
where the music is beautiful.
I am from my parents,
where they encourage me.
I am from Reading,
where you step in other people’s shoes.
I am from the ocean,
where sushi comes from.
I am from Building 429,
where the music is amazing.
I am from Lavender,
where it smells like dreamy sleepiness.
I am from dog spelled backwards,
is man’s best friend.
I am from America,
where you can speak and people listen.

Civil Rights During the 1900's

What is life like as someone who society despises?
It is living as a human,
with unalienable rights,
endowed by your creator,
but not recognized as equal.
The right to freedom,
but not to be recognized as who you really are,
underneath your skin,
a child of the Living God,
who deserves equal respect.

How ironic is it that in America,
"the home of the free",
You are eating at home,
rather than the lunch counter,
because your "kind" isn't accepted there,
because of federal law.
Some freedom!

Going to school to learn,
but not intermixed with white students,
because your "kind" isn't allowed to do that,
according to federal law.
Some freedom!

Tell me,
When was it proven that being a human,
depends on the shade of your skin?
What kind of world are we living in,
a prejudiced, cruel, and fallen one.
Losing your rights means you're being disregarded,
it doesn't matter,
that you have dreams,
it doesn't matter,
that you have hopes,
it doesn't matter,
that you have feelings, too!

Scientifically,
physically,
mentally,
emotionally,
and however else you want to call it,
People with brown skin are equally human.
There you have it, equal rights has no one color.

His Power

He is a lion,
He roars with mighty power,
never safe,
always good,
fear him,
respect him,
He is the God of the Universe,
I cannot,
put into words,
the enormity,
of his glory,
and his power,

Who else split the Red Sea,
Who else loves with such,
a never-ending love?
Who else’s grace,
is deeper than the sea?
Who else has shown,
so much patience,
towards the nations,
of the world,
when they turn against Him?
Who else starts a flame of passion,
with such power?

Who else shows grace,
to a harlot?
Who else’s anger,
is justified?
Who else shows grace,
to a murderer?
Who else shows grace,
to us,
the despicable human race,
whom turned against their creator?
Who else is still willing to love,
us?
Who else has died for the sake,
 of the human race?
Who else heals,
blind men?
Who else causes,
even the most far-gone sinner to repent?
Who else doesn’t look away,
when they know your shameful secret?
