Dalton Ogletree Poem
12/21/19
Not going to pretend it
I've been feeling rejected
And disrespected
Nothing I said and did
Was effective
Time I take a sedative
Or maybe 10 of them
Was fine one minute then out the next second
THC, pharmaceuticals and alcohol ingested
For the pain, but it doesn't end it
Until it all really sets in
And I'm in another dimension
Where there's no depression
I guess it's
Kind of like a respite
But then reality sets in
Continually tested
And tempted
Many nights I never rested
I've been disoriented
Don't know what direction I'm headed
But I shall not be bested
Or subjected
To anything wretched
I got to be intrepid
Getting wiser and improving methods
So there won't be no crash or wreckage
According to legends
And first hand accounts from veterans
I don't think you get the message
They talk of being destined
And how it can be manifested
Getting closer to the exit
One day it all will have ended
Whether or not, it was unexpected
Might not make it to being old and decrepit
And just may die alone, with no friendships
My nephew dyslexic
And this girl I know, is anorexic
In a world so hectic
It'll break you down, if you let it
Turning into something unpleasant
Whether your an adult or adolescent
No longer very majestic
It's becoming pathetic
I'm tired of being authentic and poetic
As well as what trended
And is recommended
Regardless, they're never going to give credit
Later on or in the present

Dalton Ogletree Poem
7/9/20
"Sickening"
This is sickening
And quickening
Not at all, what I was envisioning
Nobody listening
Most chickening
Fidgeting
And limiting
Themselves to the point of being crippling
The effects rippling
And tripling
On top of it, we've got social distancing
Still dribbling
I've been chiseling
And scribbling
No matter what has been incoming
Pivoting
And occasionally grimacing
The temperature freezing, cold, mild or sizzling
The weather icy, windy, calm, scorching or drizzling
Clowns continue giggling
Petty people are still belittling
Over every little thing
Not all that riveting
It's becoming uninteresting
Sometimes I sip, sometimes I swig
Sometimes I flip the script
Even though sometimes it's rigged
Before opportunities are shriveling
And dwindling
Got to get it quickly
And differently
Meanwhile all senses are tingling

Dalton Ogletree Poem
4/30/18
The prequel
Of good vs. evil
Did they ever consider each other equal?
One side peaceful
The other deceitful
In the beginning
Neither side was really winning
As the globe continued spinning
Brimming
With things that were living
Meanwhile one was only taking and one was giving
Back to the Earth while grinning
While existing
One was focused on fixing
And enriching
All the while being uplifting
The other one was drifting
And always tricking
So a bad reputation began sticking
Endless blood spilling
From all the senseless killing
Sad that they found it thrilling
Next came the middle
Each side continuing to chisel
Away at the other little by little
Even though it never was all that simple
One remaining civil
The other trying to swindle
And cripple
But the opposing side wouldn't let it all dwindle
There had to be an end
Did no good to pretend
One a true friend
The other only there to condescend
One wants you to ascend
The other wants to see you descend
One would send
You flowers and a letter that was penned
The other wants you dead
And to never see you again
There's something to be said
For those that bit the hand that fed
One saw many opportunities ahead
The other was always seeing red
Finally here comes the sequel
For the people
Still to this day good and evil
Co-exist as they have for many a siecle

Dalton Ogletree Poem
12/12/19
"Struggling"
I've been struggling
Doing things that are puzzling
It's rather troubling
How much liquor I've been guzzling
Shiiiit
I admit
I'm not proud at all
I got a problem with alcohol
It'll be my downfall
If I don't fix it
Instead of always getting twisted
On my end, there's been a lot of resistance
It's been hard, and I know that I'll miss it
But I want to follow through on my wishes
And get after serious riches
All the while, taking care of business
With god as my witness
Up until the very last minutes
And at the finish
I don't need anybody's forgiveness
Just got to make the best of my existence
Another relapse, because I always got to get my fixes
On the walls upside down triple sixes
Pictures of provocative b**** es
Blowing kisses
And a tank with fishes
As well as a few glow in the dark crucifixes
Life's tough, yet sometimes it isn't
Good riddance
Once again I've done did it
I'm starting to get suspicious
Of much more than the superstitious
I've been ambitious
Yet still oh so vicious
Sorry, can't relate, I'm not very religious
And that's just one difference
Use to be a jock and a nerd
Nowadays I burn so much herb
I've been feeling disturbed
Because there's been so much I learned
Yet the problems always return
When you're at your lowest or feeling superb
On my back the weight of an anvil
Been trying to leave it at the landfill
But keep ending up at a standstill
Damn girl,
You really gave me feelings of ecstasy
Turns out it wasn't always meant to be
You'd best believe
Working my ass off, to barely earn ends meet
Only to struggle on through the next week
Makes me feel like a ****ing dead beat
Life continues testing me
Getting the best of me, but I can't let it be
I'm ready to achieve
An outcome that turns out successfully
Living rather recklessly
Been at odds and making some enemies
Doing things that'll shorten longevity
And life expectancy
Having strange tendencies
And certain dependencies
Which could very well be the death of me

Dalton Ogletree Poem
3/7/15
At times reality was a slap to the face
But it was something I had to embrace
It was hard to bounce back
While down path
But I didn't mind being an outcast
Now that
I understood how fast
This life was, as I watched the clouds pass
I did see
Divided teams
Which only reminded me
Beside a giant tree
Why others carried out actions violently
So I continued to move silently
Since I didn't want the attention
I headed my own direction
Without question
But continued to always respect kin

Dalton Ogletree Poem
2/8/17
Straight, curvy and bumpy roads
Some with cones
All across the globe
Tools made of stones and from bones
Got to stay in the zone
Wherever I may roam and rove
Certain boards bowed
And automobiles had to be towed
Money being owed
And loaned
Waters with or without foam
And lawns that do or don't have gnomes
Regardless of if the grass was or wasn't mowed
Above and below
Where waters flow
By way of the crow
Or as it was written in an ancient tome
In areas with buffalo
Troves hidden in coves
And groves
And other places unknown
Every since way long ago
Time has shown
Tasks done alone
And on one's own
Experiments involving clones
And surveillance done with drones
Faraway and nearby home
And any other abode
Hung up the phone
If it wasn't about money, then quickly came the dialtone
Due to the weather events getting postponed
Skills and wisdom are important to hone
Whether you're full of estrogen or testosterone
Coagulated blood was found on a robe
While it snowed
The full moon glowed
Near the motherlode
Located at a node
Time seemingly sped up or slowed
Objects getting thrown away and sewed
Meanwhile the population continued to explode
In and out of areas that did or didn't errode
Old and new episodes
Information and emergency calls being radioed
Items made with many materials, sometimes chrome
Or silicone
Stadiums with or without a dome
Capable of being able to fully close
Within and beyond areas that have or haven't been combed
Better stay on your toes
Continuing to row
As the wind does or doesn't blow
Effects ripple and domino
Despite if you have or haven't chose
Because that's how life goes
Stay sharp and composed

Dalton Ogletree Poem
5/20/17
Consider this
Trying to make a difference
Instead of showing ignorance
Regardless of if we're able to relate
I'm willing to do what it takes
Instead of letting it all go to waste
No sense of entitlement
Just after enlightenment
And to help the environment
Even after retirement
Open to suggestions
In all directions
Paying attention
With much more than good intentions
Call it one form of self expression
One thing for certain and proven
I'm only human
Yet still trying to make my contribution
Near and far from fields of lupin

Dalton Ogletree Poem
6/12/20
What time is it? It's time to get some money
Think harder, Stop being a dummy
Beating a dead horse, only the first time it was funny
With me, don't try to get all chummy
At one point, my life was crummy
Now, I'm turning it around, working on recovery
Whether cloudy, snowy, windy or sunny
Feeling like I got more animals than human buddies
My cup is always muddy
I don't like my eggs too runny
I'm into you girl, you're sweeter than honey
Is it all going to end slowly or abruptly?
For many, certain subjects are touchy
To put it bluntly
I desire a woman that will love me
But how can I, if I'm a weed and alcohol junkie
At times I've been fortunate or unlucky
In a world, that can be beautiful yet also ugly
I'm lonely, I'd like some company
Too bad, I really thought she was the one for me
Feeling strangely different, suddenly
In the end, I aim to come out triumphantly
I refuse to live a life of redundancy
People just love to rant
And leave their stamp
I get relief from a plant
To make up for all the love I lack
The end result, could be lungs that are black
I consider myself a decent chap
Unlike all these other cats
Many of which are whack
Individuals still talking crap
Just about everything they say is cap
In a place so vast
This life moves fast
Far too long, I felt like an outcast
And was downcast
Now I plan to outlast
Resources were scant
On terrain at a slant
My clothes and shoes got damp
So I set up camp
Before I'd need a lamp
I weathered storms like a champ
Never thought that " I can't"
Eventually packed up and headed back
With the help of a map
It was a wrap
Folks often vent
About how things went
Whether it turned out good or took a left
All these presidents
Continually spent
You'd think it was for some event
Maybe if I really meant
To put forth one hundred percent
I'd reach the furthest extent
As things augment
And orient
Which is the overall intent

Dalton Ogletree Poem
11/17/16
He did not hit no home run, it was a grounder
How many cabinets or counters
Have some sort of white powder
Many meals cooked with flour
Familiar with the Two Towers
As well as Wario and Bowser
Head up, regardless of any times being dour
Nagivating around sharp objects that could be eye gougers
In certain waters, swim flounder
Certain individuals working as a bouncer
Or with web browsers
And many more, but I'm not going to name them all like an announcer
Some just want the money and power
She wanted exotic flowers
And a dog that was a schnauzer
Objects being restored and scoured
On a planet with unexplained mysteries and strange encounters
There is so much you can do in twenty four hours
See for yourself unless you want to be a doubter
This place by the ocean has some of the best chowder
Classic like "Wallace and Grommit in the wrong trousers"
Nocturnal hunters and night prowlers
Wolves are quite the growlers and howlers
By black holes matter being devoured
That which does not can ouster
I always like rain and thunder showers
Girl, of you I could not be prouder
I'll buy, now let's go get some sweet and sour
