Lynn Batson Poem
Atop a mountain looking abroad
Eagles fly out freely, far and wide
Space seems like an arms reach
Watching Earth's floor from aside.
No sense of direction from here
Like a pause in space and time
The brain turns but all is numb
Silence plays a different rhyme.
Drifting away on a different plane
Worlds so near yet so far and apart
Atop this mountain, like a painting
Peaceful still life, a world with art.

Lynn Batson Poem
You find someone who intimidates you.
They have something that you want badly.
And therefore they are superior, the few.
You would do any thing to have the same.
Sitting in your dark world, festering now.
It is cold and quiet in the world you know.
A desire for something and wondering how.
To do what needed to be done to get the same.
If only you were like that person, all the better.
Why should they have something and you not.
You now feel jealous to no end and seem bitter.
Maybe this person is a friend or a friendly neighbor.
But that does not matter, they really should share.
What makes them any better then you anyways.
You do not want to cause harm but maybe fear.
Just enough that they see the seriousness of it.
You feel people look down at you and make fun.
Maybe if you had the same qualities as they did.
The more it festers and then you end up with a gun.
But does it have to be this way, why not just share.
They were the innocent one with no wrong doing.
But you just could not leave it all behind you now.
And now this madness has given you a new viewing.
Now you sit in a cell with nothing but growing envy.

Lynn Batson Poem
A battle with a dark past
What should have been
Still alive and here to last.
Promises and words liquefy
Standing without a thought
Nothing will begin to solidify.
Sitting in a fog with no clue
Feeling tired after a long fight
Frustration is an ugly stew.
Strangulation for the voice
The one lost down inside
Silence is bliss, now rejoice.

Lynn Batson Poem
As i sit there staring back at what could be considered, the biggest, defeat that ever
faced me.
Being tempted by the savoring aroma along with the idea of sinking my teeth into such a prize.
Can't seem to pull away like some unknown power beckons me, to face my challenge with
great pride.
Delicately, removing the top part only to find the main attraction that is the center of
it all.
Enlarging the monstrosity of it all, like builders would put together a building as it
goes upward.
Finding more and more to add to it, and wondering how my human sized mouth will finish
this off.
Giant sized now, and looking at it sit there in front of me with eyes wide as my mothers
sauce pan.
Handling something this large has never been handled before by anyone in my family, for
we're human.
Isn't this illegal or should it not be illegal, for humans to devour such things as this
one now.
Just thinking of it sitting in my stomach makes me feel rather large, and now i start to
ponder.
Kids gather around my table with big eyes and daring smiles, just waiting to see if i can
conquer.
Losing all hope of backing out of the deal, starting to consider the best way to start
digesting.
Men and women stand around cheering me on, as i break into a cold sweat and start losing
my senses.
Nobody has ever done such a task as this, and i begin to wonder about my own sanity at
this point.
Oh how my stomach starts to turn and grind, as it receives anything it can get for it's
been hungry.
People gather around from miles and miles wanting to see if i make it, or if i will fall
off my seat.
Quietly i chew and chew, and chew some more as my mouth works and my eyes blink in great
surprise.
Relishing the last bite i see I'm still alive, and can't believe i made it, with not a
crumb to spare.
Surely i get a t-shirt, or a prize of some kind, for achieving such a heroic action and
living still.
Truly people will remember me, and chant my name up and down the city streets for many
years to come.
Unfortunately reality sinks back in quickly like a tidal wave, and I find that my sides
stick out round.
Violently i fight and tug with a pull to get myself out of the chair, and away from the
now smaller table.
Whining to myself but out loud uncontrollably about how i should have never done this, and
now I'm stuck.
X-rays taken and doctors come to visit me, telling me I should have never ordered that
four pound hamburger.

Lynn Batson Poem
The players come out to play. The audience gathered around, cheering them on.
One by one they take acknowledgment . The speaker motions to settle down.
He steps up to the tee with confidence. Ahead of him lies sand and a deep pond.
The ball takes flight now so high and far. Missing the hazards now it's home run.
A crowd supports him by cheering him on. Walking so proud looking for the ball.
Walking down a runway of grass and looking. He hits a ball again oh how fun.
They gather like mocking birds. They watch now on the green and what a sight.
This time a moment if silence. He hits the ball and wait, the club flies just as well.
He gasps for air and stutters. Bogey now becomes a painful word so not right.
If only he had a good caddy now. This is no good especially in an all time tourney.
What happened to his skills just now. Feeling numb from the shoulders on down.
Oh what a trauma to the family name. Momma will knock him out onto a gurney.
All that prize money flashing before him. And it was such a dream to walk on top.
Looking at the crowd watching him now. He chokes his caddy till it turns all blue.
What a clown says one, join a circus maybe. Now going in history as a big flop.

Lynn Batson Poem
Lost in a mysterious haze
Not a sound or visible sign
Maybe found in a wild daze.
The need to write runs free
Veins hunger wildly for verse
A need that many don't see.
Like a caged fury only waiting
Wanting to see the ink flow
So alive and without fading.
A writer finds the right pen
The hunger makes ink drip
Finally, he starts to write again.

Lynn Batson Poem
Floating through space and time
On the inside now looking outward
High above life away from it all
Wanting to be alone, not a crime.
Drifting aimlessly with no map
Not a care in the world now
Just you and the silence within
Avoiding a world that can snap.
Silence is a valued treasure
Very few understand my view
My own personal world to live
Being just one is good measure.
Tossing in all your cards now
Not caring what happens today
Nothing here to worry about
Ready to toss in my white towel.

Lynn Batson Poem
Words are the minds tool. A new world is made and released.
The master mind at work. Words flow with furry and that of a beast.
Lined paper becomes a canvas. A pen, the brush filled with life.
Master mind thinks and writes. Creating all sorts, maybe even a wife.
A world filled with this and that. Filled with all kinds of emotions.
A far away land with a castle perhaps. or a sailor sailing the wild oceans.
Oh, master mind, how you do write. The world you see and draw.
Your mind draws such interesting life. A house of brick, or a hut of straw.
Skies a blue, or maybe a touch of red. A human like you and me, or not.
A stranger stalking through the warm night. Maybe a knight resting on a cot.
How we look into the eyes of the master mind. See his work come to such life.
A dragon and a knight, a fairy tale you might say. Or a pauper finding a beautiful wife.
No matter who is the master mind. It all comes from the mind using words as a tool.
We can laugh or maybe we might cry. Whatever it is, a tale of some sort rich and full.
One word after another, forming an adventure. A readers mind seeking great treasure.
We create a place for guests to come and see. A universe for all to visit with pleasure.
Whatever our likes or dislikes might be. Our minds can always be sure to explore and find.
No matter our backgrounds, our whereabouts. We are all our own creative master mind.

Lynn Batson Poem
You walk around smug and proud.
Being the best there ever will be.
The way you act in any size crowd.
Just think how everyone falls for you.
You can not be bothered by others.
The untouchable is what you are.
Not even wanting to deal with brother.
Even friends and family have flaws.
But not you. You have it down right.
You have beat perfection this time.
No mistakes, you stand and fight.
Hanging onto what is precious.
Ignoring everyone else around you.
There is no other way to do this.
Everywhere there is problems to.
But that is not for you to worry.
You have money to help the poor.
Food is no stranger for the hungry.
Time to give for love and to adore.
But it is not for shares, not now.
Then one day it happens to you.
Age sits in and you are all alone.
Nobody is around to talk to, a few.
They all left you alone to die of pride.

Lynn Batson Poem
Screams of rage break free
A voice that was lost before
Feeling tied but can not see.
Eyes glazed over with intent
Anger surfaces with results
Shattered silence now bent.
Everyone says I’m just quiet
Judging by the outside only
Time to show them all a riot.
A warrior from within is free
Taking everything now said
A new found strength to see.
Fighting for my own rights
Taking the role as a leader
Writing with a voice at nights
