Mind Your Own Business

He calls me "son"
come here, lets learn
it's easy, you can earn
I will teach you all I can
life is easy, it's fun
all you need is a span
of ecstasy and swan

    I got a poke
    on Facebook, it's a joke
    seems to choke
    it's serious, it's a mock
    but I still rock
    you are free to stalk
    I just need no talk

    am not stupid am fine
    come, let's dine
    I don't do wine
    it's just in line
with my principles, they are mine

you seem so foolish
it's out of hand, it's prudish
you need to polish;
out the sissy and sheepish
character; you are childish

    sir I got no chance
    tell me about renaissance
all you need is a lance
    if irritated, vamoose to France
there, you will have no glance
    of this silly Brance
for your sake, am brilliant for once
    blueprints on freelance
    check out, you got chance

I want to be happy, I really am
what's behind my pen, my right arm
scripting down lines that keep me calm
all for the sake of being firm
    I got no issues, I don't harm

something destroys me, I let it sting
    putting my emotions to swing
    going about like a ring
    sorrow hits, it grows
it's too much, no one knows
if you are keen, it shows
pain oozing out of my pores
    it's life, it's a course
all I do is hold on of course

    enough for now, it's rare
I will buy you lunch, I care
    only if you swear
to live your life, and don't dare
    bring this topic to air

Shadows In My Eyes

On 14th Feb, valentines day
I spent my afternoon
lying lazily on the hammock at the beach
pondering over the dreams of my youths
with truth constantly reflecting
wondering if true love ever exists
gazing blindly around
not sure of what I see

At the periphery of the beach
a pretty lady in a blue bikini
seats alone she seems busy for herself
sieving sand between her fingers.
a fragrant breeze blows
as her lovely curly hair responds
her lips so soft and red
her eyes, sparkling like stars in the sky
staring at them I felt like I was soaring high
she initiates a smile which blows me away
feeling my heart with regrets
why love never led me to the right person

A dark gentle man
cladded in a pair of slacks
walks towards her
seems her counterpart right
by his right hand he helps her up
on her legs she embraces him warmly
stricken by envy, I feign a smile
as I watch romance take the better of them.

walking hand in hand
the two begin to ease into a special place
a special place for lovers
The lovers nest, a romantic thrill
at the end of the beach
these are only but,
shadows in my eyes.

Corruption

I too sing corruption
I waited on the bench
was told no work
reason (mkono mtupu)
yes had no long relative

I sat next to the conductor
comes an officer
wringing their hands
red-pinkish 100 shilling note
(afande chai)
but the vehicle overloaded

I went job-searching
but my less qualified counterpart had it
sexual favors I tell you
My certificates useless
I now clean the streets

In the bureaucrat
I see my tax
I see embezzled funds
several investigations
with no results

The country is mired into corruption
Who will emancipate us???
strong vespers we need.
I really yearn for the times
when fairness will thrive
when we will sing a dirge to corruption.

Corruption

CORRUPTION
I look at the horizon of life,
the destiny of our country
No love,, passing infatuation
with crucifixion of hearts and souls

Blindfolded
worsened by highhandedness
closely followed by fate
woven in deeps of unknown state
No justice

corruption our downfall
swayed by greed
confused by haste riches
A perfect man eat man society

Our destiny, premonition
our sanity, stale
our culture, eroded
with corruption, life is unfair
the country is mired into corruption

My Love

My loved one
she is an oasis
a rare species
lemon of the cloister grape
in Savannah

she parades beauty
she made a proposal to God
before her creation
hips to happily embrace
eyes that cares me with joy

she is not ordinary
she isn't the stereotype
her complexion,
a manuscript to read hymns from
when she walks, all the world behind her

you are the beat of me
you are like holy water from paradise
flower of the firmament
wrought by divine craftsmen

New Years Gift

seating screwed in the soundly pub
the tankard half tilted to his mouth
watching above his surged spectacles

Two brown ladies
sweep by, swaying hips in desire
serving drinks to yearning customers.
Is it admiration that starts in him??
or the reality that he has no peace?
he matches his eyes with her motions.

Back to the counter,
she notices the suggestive eyes
staring at her with a feeling of awe
she initiates a smile.

Swept by the wind of unrest and
deluged by a sense of yearning,
He rises and moves towards her
wondering what to say
but his feelings dare
suspended in awe like a lovers kiss...
the feeling so foreign

He lifts her arms with motionless lips
tries to utter "LOVE YOU"
but he swallows his words.
Through telepathy, the two souls unite,
shared feelings in the air
love to declare

with a promise of marriage
that restores the courage.
They begin anew
how he had no clue
a love now true,
a new year's gift to who
seemed so blue.

Memories We Lost

six years of loiter
running away from reality
crushed by the hand of fate
having felt the frustrations of life
where I found my heart broken
the future a mirage
my first kiss on valentines eve
cant recognize whether I did it right
takes me to where I found my heart broken

Am on my way
betrayed by life
walking blind convinced I can see
ridding on the edge of a knife
lonely here by the castle
alone in life bullied fears
I count on the friends I lost

one friend left to beg on the streets
one now a habitual thief
one a serious drug addict
one works down at the garbage
one beaten by life, now a harlot
one already a third wife
all whose dreams faded and quickly disappeared

cascading hurts fracture my heart
as I retrospect how optimistic we were
fighting like a pig, I try to hold on
with my shadow clinging on desperately
fighting formidable battles
striving to get to the me I knew.

The Silent Hour

Whittle a stick down the silent water
by the river side a confused chapter
caught in cross-hairs the trees were humming
turning twigs as leaves were turning

meet he who handles the ore
that roars the boat in the silent waters,
the silent waters a place,
where fishing goes on on a daily basis

caught in a nice rainbow
he casts his nets
to communicate with the creatures underneath
this is just a waste of his talent
damn!! said the fish as it hit a concrete rock

he stretches his efforts struggling with the creatures
a tufted niche to hedge his bets
a cocktail of soar yet sweet smell emanates
as the creatures are squeezed into baskets

In a bumpy ride
comes a Caucasian man
slim with grey hair and a grey beard
he seems too old for his age

I watched as he took the fisherman's toil,
dash and rush as he leaves in his hilux
silenced, no guts to speak
the fisherman feigns a smile
this is just a waste of his efforts

a choir of emotions cast a spell
as a deep mysterious language
of yearning for equity evokes.
why reap where you never sow??
a series of feelings cobweb my mind
wishing light to the dark
to transform ill souls

overcoming the pain
the man walks away
lost in self pity
his efforts futile
vulnerable never goad

Love Frequency

I'd like to let you know that
I love you so
deep from the cathedral of my heart, as
I am better with you, no
matter the hurdles you
have shown to be
by my side, and
my love for you is unconditional as
I have known what love really is, when
you started showing it to me and
you are my heart when it comes to love, more-so
my merriment when it comes to fun, now
you have become my hearts desire, and
I never want to let you go for
I fear losing you, so
I just hold on a little tighter, I bet
you will never know the warmth I feel inside me, when
I am with you as
you are all I wanted.
I could have led all my life celebrating lust and
calling it love, but
thank GOD I found you, who
lights up my world each day.
I could search through and through, but
never find another you.
Some say you fall in love once, but
I contradict as
every time I look into you
I fall in love all over again.
If love is worth fighting for then
am ready for a fight as
I want to love you till
the day after forever.

Hypocrisy

Generosity...
no animosity
generosity and animosity
every person feels
to some it heels
to others, it kills

Hypocrisy...
no friendship
hypocrisy and friendship
both human show
in friendship lies hypocrisy
yields tragedy
tragedy is only but friendship,
in the cloak of hypocrisy.
