Like a Rose

To me she is like a rose,
Endowed with beauty that defies all odds;
To me she is juxtaposed,
Betwixt enchanting beauty and tantalizing soul.

To me she is just a rose,
An immaculate fit in pulchritude’s elite;
To me she stands forlorn,
So mesmerizing, with secrets untold.

To me she is like a rose,
Surrounded by thorns that pierce my heart’s walls;
Eagerly and charily I long,
To know to whom her heart shall truly belong.

By Clear Waters of Niagara Falls

By clear waters of Niagara Falls,
Engulfed within its dainty mist,
There my soul finds solace,
A peace transcending that of sleep.
Like crystal tears shed by gods,
Infused with life and majesty,
Niagara flows all day,
While nature lauds her rare beauty.
Forever my heart will lie in awe,
Eternally, her song I’ll sing,
‘Nature’s prime fair maiden,
True beauty b’longs only to thee.’

On the 9th of 9

On the 9th of 9 beneath a starry, moonlit sky,

Caressed by the cool night breeze from autumn’s infinite breath,

I wept in deep pain and uncertainty as the beginning of an impending and unclear truth swiftly unfolded.

With my eyes wholly closed and a final crystal tear rolling down my cheek,

I strove to, for the last time,

Bask in the beauty of memories birthed through scarlet’s code;

Memories that stake my heart,

Yet instill great strength and joy.

The flashback felt more like a dream than reality,

A hybrid sort of realistic fantasy based on fictitious reality;

As this final fantasy echoed her euphonious voice and challenging persona which so constantly trapped my helpless soul,

A huge gush of weakness bellowed through my wobbling legs,

And on my knees, betwixt sands of time,

I fell like the conquered knight I am:

Yes, the ‘Accursed White Knight’.

In peace and bliss,

Within helplessness and defeat,

With bow and sword in hand and land,

I instantly froze- still engulfed in the trance with my knees on Avalon’s ground and eyes tightly sealed- as the image of her pretty face,

Immaculate eyes brighter than the jewels of the night sky,

Hair straighter than silky clouds,

Skin fairer than chocolate and sunlight’s robes,

And dainty smile more devastating than that of Mona Lisa,

Was slowly veiled and faded into the dark…

Silence awoke, and my heart tore into pieces.

How sad it is that love so sweet could sting so bitterly,

That the essence of blithe and caring spirit could be shattered by nature, past, and agonizing undeservedness;

Though like a honey bee I’m forever lured to the scent of her nectar so sweet,

She and I cannot be,

For she dwells beyond me and my reach.

She is a precious flower with unique elegance,

A red rose amidst sharpened thorns,

Whose destiny daily eludes my soul through endless eternity.

Creation's Mystery

“Creation’s mystery” sings my soul,
Majestic beauty do my eyes behold;

O how bright is thy soul,
Like glimmering light from winter’s snow;
How warm is thine heart,
Like a summer's day’s Rose filled park;

How placid is thy sweet smile,
Enthralling, simply benign;
How lovable is thine voice,
Soft and solemn, fills all voids;

How silky is thy hair,
Like strands of wool from clouds’ feathers;
How bright are thine eyes,
Twilight’s envy, the stars’ pride;

How beautiful is thy face,
Even Lilies do doubt their grace;
How perfect is thine form,
Shaped by God, and marveled by all;

How wonderful is thine skin,
A tone of gold like sunlight’s sting;
And so quite vividly my heart thaws,
Above and betwixt thy love’s walls.

Thine nature, above beauty, indeed does belong;
Creation’s mystery, eternally, my soul shall adore.

Beneath the Amber Light

Beneath yellow lights that deck the streets at dusk,
Where I first felt Rosy chills of your lovely amber touch,
There our souls sync while the angels watch in awe,
As we stand warmly embraced by our heart's blossoming love.

Beneath the amber light on this last winter night,
As I gaze at your hazel eyes set ablaze by love sublime,
I vow to love only thee my beloved 'Amber Lee',
So long the sun shines and the wind blows with ease.

A Misconstrued Secret

What use is a secret if it’s existence is unknown?

Why struggle to keep it if none strives to see it told?

A secret draws its power from the populace it eludes,

So, let me tell a tale that no soul has yet construed.

There lives a fair maiden with black hair and rosy cheeks,

Hidden in a land beyond horizons with beauty ‘nriched,

Her name is mere myth, she’s that ‘lady in the meadow’,

She's like an enchantress whose love spell waxes strong.

She means no harm to they that find her isle,

She only seeks to know the divine meaning of life,

Sadly, her beauty is worth more than precious gold,

And so, chivalry falls, like lightning, for her soul.

Refrain from her face 'nd her sweet 'kiss of death',

It strikes like a viper with fangs of great finesse,

Puncturing your 'reason' down to the heart's core,

Creating a love-sick zombie, a staved man with no cause.

Beware her brown eyes for they are the worst of them all,

Brown pearls of destruction that trap a man’s soul,

One gaze's enough to ev'n steal hearts of ice,

There’s no way to escape, beware her beautiful eyes.

How do I know of this, many of you might ask,

I know for I fell into her beauty's love trap,

But, fortunately, she spared me on a solemn dark night,

And now I've been knighted as the ‘Accursed White Knight.'

What use is a secret if it makes no sense?

What power has a secret that no soul has ever heard?

Understand my secret of this black and purple dame,

But be warned, no human has ever decoded her name.

Mirror On the Wall

Mirror, mirror on the wall;

Who’s the fairest of them all?

Is it love from heaven’s cove?

Or the snow of nature’s rob?

Mirror, mirror on the wall;

Am I marveled by all the globe?

Mirror, mirror on the wall;

Am I prettier th’n a scarlet rose?

Mirror, mirror on the wall;

Am I worth more th’n all the gold?

Mirror, mirror on the wall;

Who’s the fairest of them all?

Remember

Remember that day when you and I first met?
You were dressed in black denims, a purple shirt and flat shoes;
Your straight hair was pulled back in a neat and tidy way,
Exposing your beautiful face which I frame in all my dreams.

Remember how we always talked through words and thoughts?
Our minds were subtly meshed beyond telepathy;
We finished each other’s sentences and smiled all the while,
And at night, those words were a blanket I cuddled with warmth.

Remember that day we walked on streets passed the malls?
We rarely looked at each other deep in the eyes,
But, we walked so close to each other, stealing secret side-view glances,
How I wish I had stopped you and looked right into your brown eyes.

Remember when we sat near the park as evening approached?
It felt like time had frozen between divine frozen time;
It was then when you shared thoughts that came from your heart,
You told me your heart’s desire to someday paint the town red.

Remember how we grew so close and yet were so apart?
How that we had lovely moments each time we spoke?
Those moments are now memories that stake my fragile heart,
I wish I could rewind time and find a way to amend my mistakes.

Remember the day I saw you before I finally left the city?
I had no words to say to you, but had multitudes to write;
That’s why I wrote you that letter and placed it in your dainty hands,
Stole a glance into your eyes, and walked away with tears in my eyes.

Remember the things I have failed to say,
Remember the words I’ve painted with pens,
Remember my love because it still sets me ablaze;
I always remember that I once loved a rare dame.

Shooting Star

Should I reach for the sky and catch this shooting star,

As she charily sheds her dainty white light?

Should I sail the seas without her treasure map,

And infinitely lose myself in her brown eyes?

Should I grapple her love, reach for the heart in sight,

And touch the beautiful flame of her candlelight?

Should I reach for the sky and catch this special star,

Even though all she might do is burn my fragile heart?

Desolate Heart

Snowflakes fall thither to the drapes of my heart,

Savoring strong bonds to the joy of days anew,

Layering six feet of emotions forlorn,

Fear is all I feel, and my heart has split to two.

Will the sun ever shine like in days of old?

Will its warmth ever thaw these thickets of ice?

I long for that day when men shall be one,

When love and unity shall become comm’n ground.
