The Mindset of a Non-Existent Mind

There are two of me, yet there is only one. The happy one and the sad one, but they are in fact, one person. The mind is broken in two, which is then broken up into even smaller fractions, but it is still one mind. The confused one, the knowledgeable one, yet they are the same. Inside of a brain clouded by depressing thoughts, of which new ones are added every moment of its observation of this strange place the "normal" ones call their world. A place that creates a mindset which can only be described through confusing poetic like sentences, sentences that the mind believes no human would be able to understand, for the understanding of these sentences would mean that another mind in this strange place has a similar mindset and similar thoughts to it. Another mind that understands this would know, it would know of the secret messages hidden within this strange poetic message. It would know the identity of this mindset that the mind is caught up in. It would know this minds view on the world. But, it would also know, that there is another mind like it, it would try to find this peculiar other mind and it would be disappointed with what it finds. For, there is no "other mind" here, just an empty hollow of madness and sadness. Yes, technically it would be finding a fellow depressing hollow, but, would it really want to find another like itself?

Is This a Nightmare

Awakened by a tapping noise,
all the lights are out,
the light switch isn't working,
so you start to doubt.

Doubt that you're alone,
alone in this house,
the noise is getting louder,
it can't just be a mouse.

You decide to go outside,
to turn the power on,
is this really happening,
a dream, it could be one.

A nightmare is more like it,
the thought runs through your head,
until a quiet voice calls out,
"would you rather be dead?"
