Let's Fly High

Let's fly high
Let's touch the sky
Let's give it a try

We need no pushes
We can kick start ourselves
We need no pulls
We can trek up ourselves
We take care of the family
Then why not ourselves?

We act like a flower
In the early breeze
We act like a butterfly
Fluttering throughout the day
We act like a steel
At the stormy nights
We don't act selfish
If we are standing for ourselves

We need no wings to fly
To unconfine our dreams
To listen to our hearts
To believe in our passion

We are the bright eyed
We live with honour and pride
Be it a home maker
Be it a story teller
Be it a working lady
Be it an artist
We are all the Elakshis!

Yes! We can fly high
We can touch the sky!

Piece of Paper

Piece of paper

I want to be an Origami sheet
They can make a boat of me
Then make a rose of me
Then make a gift box of me
For the friend to cherish me.

I want to be an art sheet
The artist can paint on me
Sketch their mind on me
Craft something new on me
For the world to adore me.

I want to become a plain sheet
For a writer to scribe on me
To open their heart on me
To recite a poem on me
For the readers to review me.

One Year Old

This menace is my son

Brings me a lot of fun

Always wants to run

Hates to eat even a little bun

I love oiling him

But he loves bathing

And is annoyed

If the taps aren't running

He bites the candies

Swallows rice

Dislikes chapatti

But oats are nice

Only if filled with spice

His actions during rhymes

Makes my eyes shine

If he gives a good take

Then the effort is all mines

This little one has many fans

They keep on visiting

Yet! the uploading of photos and videos are never ending.

Toys bore him

He is amazed by the sounds

Loitering is favorite pastime

Music makes him go round and round

I enjoy listening "shhooooo"

While tying his shoe lace up

And also "mum”

When his tumbler is bottoms up

Splashing water everywhere

Killing winter worries me

Leaking diapers don't bother him

Being naughty is 'Me'!

To sleep, he hides my phone inside him

As though I am a thief

I need to stare at him

The lullabies can take a leave

Some injections kept him healthy

Some drops, able

My son! You will always be in my prayers and

And a prayer too

'Dhairya', I love you

May you arise high like a star

That shines on its own

And also help others shine.
