Hopeful Solitude

I am sitting on the stairs.

The people upstairs make me feel nervous,
They always stink of beer and spit,
When they speak down at me.
I am a duck surrounded by vicious seagulls,
They peck at the feathers,
On my back/my wings.

I am sitting on the stairs.

The people downstairs make me feel scared.
They are always shouting,
Not always at me, at each other.
I am stood in NO mans’ land
With the insults and cutlery flying,
Past my head like bullets.

I am sitting on the stairs.

This is my place.
I know I am unwanted.
I am happier alone.
Here I can think, read,
I even play cards with myself.
My only friend is me,
I am safe here, on the stairs.

The Eligarf

Partly an Elephant
and partly Giraffe,
no creature is so strange and rare
as the elegant Eligarf

walking forwards
it's quite agile,
but going backwards
it is fragile.

The Endangered Planet

The ship is sailing tomorrow,
Don’t miss it, don’t be late.
The green sea steals green bottles
From the tattered shore.
Why weren’t you there?
When the sea called to the hills.

You missed it you were late.
Now the cliff has turned to sand
And small rocks that crumble
Slowly beneath your feet,
Are the only friend
To the pale ocean.

A long time has passed
Since the flowers bloomed
An’ forests stood tall
In the sea wind.

So tell your kids,
Now while you can,
Now to recycle,
Now to care about,
The dying planet left
To GLOBAL WARMING!

Note: Just thought I would warn you.

Mirror of War

No footprints go beyond it
Ain’t that enough sir

But I’m hanging tough
Breaking the branches, off
Your family tree.

Day, by, day, by, day,

I eat the dirt
Make me blow my brains out
Or I’ll point it at you.

Day, by, day, by, day,

No footsteps go beyond it
Ain’t that enough sir.

Untitled Poem 01

Splick, splosh, splash. The stormy sky’s crash;
Emptying all of heavens rejected sadness onto our heads.
Greed is laughing, as gales fell trees to the marshy ground.
The knurled earth twists and boils spitting out sorrow.
Lightning strikes!
Umbrellas deflect angels’ tears and direct the gods’ fury,
Darkness encompasses the earth-
Evil takes Joy’s place-
All is death. All is hatred.
When an infant’s cry’s for a lost mother lightens the skies.
