One Hour For Eternity

Flying High amid God's creation,
There was one beautiful in Heaven.
A creation with wisdom, power,
An impeccable angel for all to admire.
Here we observe a born king among God's holy family.
Lucifer, the radiant Prince, serving God as the angels,
Having been endowed with a voice of splendor,
Given a tongue to please the ear of God,
Possessing a face without impurity, a bold body as black marble,
One day, becoming conscious of his qualities, took appraisal of his own identity.
Rallying angels close to him, Lucifer exhibited his power, his voice, and acumen.
Lucifer gained an audience in Heaven,
His volcanic power left lesser angels in awe,
His voice shook the air, a concert of pride stirred the chest of all who heard,
As evident by the senses, he appeared superior to God,
His pride could be measured and known by every sense given by God.
Lucifer gained a following, as angels enlisting their faith in him to seize Heaven.
Of all angels, loyalty and faith pooled within Michael and Gabriel in that hour,
For the one, true God, they commanded His heavenly brigades against Lucifer.
War in Heaven,
How powerful pride is that it gave birth to such an incident.
Angels raced about as bees out of a stirred hive,
Lucifer and Gabriel, brothers, were engaged in a duel,
As mighty as he was in battle, Gabriel could not withstand Lucifer’s power.
Subdued, Gabriel watched as Lucifer stood over him to take his life.
As lightning would a tree, Michael seized Lucifer and presented him Before God.
Out of love, mercy, and righteousness, God repossessed the talents of Lucifer.
He took his glowing presence, his power and authority, as well as his name.
Satan was cast out of Heaven with his following, into the Earth.
A great creation thought blameless, rebelled out of pride,
Rebelled to make us imperfect as he is, in the same hour God decided to love mankind.

Cruel Ocean

I've come a long way,
There's a reason God has me where I am today,
But I can't help looking back,
because across that ocean is what I lack.

That hill I stood on and beheld the water,
It touched my young soul, it left its' mark,
Can't believe I remember it seventeen years later,
That day the sun set, made everything dark.

That's not all that's over there,
It's where I came into this world so cold,
The place I became aware,
Of love from the young and old.

A place where I first felt love is over that ocean
I didn't know it then,
But to say "I love you" now and in person,
I'd cry, speech means more than pen.

I'd say it in their language and I'd feel so foreign,
Because I've been gone seventeen years
To them I'd look so alien,
They would too from behind my tears.

My first steps and words happened over yonder,
Over here I became a sprinter,
I they were on land I'd go the distance,
I'd run through the pain, leap over every fence.

But there's that ocean, and I'm landlocked,
Haven't seen or smelled the wood of any dock,
I've missed that place and never getting back is my fear,
Because since I've been here I've counted the years.

Four years, half my life,
Nine years, Freshman now,
Seventeen, no end in sight,
When I'll get back? First tell me how.

Things are supposed to be great here,
A country where government's not feared,
A place to succeed and thrive,
Yet everyone's fake, they're dead inside.

None of it matters to me anyway,
I've already said goodbye,
God I just want to get back across that ocean,
Before my soul flies to you through the sky.

Dream With Me

As I lay down, my strength belonging to another day,
I closed my eyes to soon open them, and see a pair looking my way,
There were close, dark, and lovely,
They belonged to a woman, who smiled and said, "dream with me."

"Where will we stay?", and I dreamed of a lovely home,
One with space, warmth from a fireplace,
"Will we be alone?", and I dreamed of children, in our house they roamed,
Always smiling, scheming, eager to race,
"Will we worry?", and I dreamed of wealth, falling from the sky,
We gathered it as a family, and gave to those that needed.
"Will you make me cry?", and I dreamed of her smile,
Life's hand would only cause tears, emotions I treated.
"How will we perish?", and I dreamed of being old together,
We lay surrounded by loved ones, our souls close to forever.

"Take my hand", and I reached out her way,
I closed my eyes to soon open them, a pair not looking back,
As I arose to give my strength to another day,
I held close to my heart and mind, the dream I chase; a reality I lack.
