Source of Nile

North eastern whistling through papyrus banks Emanating streams are from forest Rwanda Collecting reserving ever controversial No propagating ,Lake Victoria real natural source We are from the source of Nile Summer rain blessed over mount of Ethiopia Seasonal worship prolonging to Hapi. Egyptian farmers awaiting the blue silt Obscuring barriers , flowing river great We are from the source of Nile She will be joining blue hands at Khartoum Resting reversing , then reaching to Cairo Looking behind like a responsible mom Blessing the fertile land again , hats off We are from the source of Nile Enchanting caves and all gigantic pyramids Egyptian mummy an evident civilization Gentle the flow for the life distribution Never dispensable such a real contribution We are from the source of Nile Padmakumar

You Have Been No More

YOU HAVE BEEN NO MORE --------------------------------- My sister , you have been no more Scintillating your body has been tarnished Even before , your soul was buried No one has seen your face for a glance No body heard you for a while in the roar Now people are streaming like a river to the ocean Emanating candles are broken in the half way Tears are droplet in the darkness all the way Words can sometimes partly be contained What should have been conveyed , parting you sad.

After the Monsoon

The shattering monsoon is over
The showers have broken up
The downpour was greater in valleys
Country side , court yard and markets

The sunny days had gone on vacation
Leaving clouds and gloom
And a faint sun

With a terrible beauty
Marching clouds were piled high
pouches of black doom in the sky
Water streams fell from the dark
But no thunder or dreaded spark

Large mango trees have fallen
Street children collect the windfall harvest
Croaking crows go back to their nests
Fishing boats nets lie at rest

School Children go with umbrellas
Blue and white turning brown
Bad weather , bad weather rumors
Are no body's concern

Nothing can go far
Ninety days of clouds fade away
The sun regains its glory
The dark sadly retreats

Spray of colours come from a blue sky
The rainbow green a light for departure
A sign the monsoon is leaving
Leaving the soil fertile and alive

It is a proud part of our existence
But like our lives
It will have to sadly depart
Everything comes to an end.

(The average level of annual rain fall is quite high in our
region - the southern part of India - , and we enjoy four
seasons : winter , summer , south west monsoon followed
by north east monsoon.Monsoon starts some times near the
beginning of June and some times lasts until December.
The people of this region are very dependent on this rainy
season and they are passionate about this annual visitor.
The above poem , describes a period during January , just
after the monsoon season of the previous year , recalling
cherished and rejuvenating experiences , coupled with
certain lethargy.)

Nomads

NOMADS Children in the nomadic kit They never wake-up to the day light They are born to the sleepy darkness Really they have not born at all Darkness in the finger tip For somebody every five years Life never respond any story beyond Actually no where we lived at all Landing on the dark pit And pretending to live terribly failed Don't deserve to sensible the pass away Factually no one possess a death at all.

Teacher From Nursery Rhymes

She never been to a teacher for me Who would have taught me a glitter of life She was a teacher of nursery kids Who has been transferred to school near by While in the morning , commuting to office Even before I could start the routine There is a phone call , alerting my son Troubling some children so report to school Owing to late marks I reschedule for Reaching to pacify , no other way. He was so crazy and active in group What else , no children are born to a crime. Complaints , but repeated, multiple ways Compel to expect irritating calls She never plan to stop ring in my phone Promptly recur like habitual source. Final one day could I recollect , since She was so cheerful while talking to me Confirmed no further more disturbances She has been transferred to some other place. Padmakumar

Expatriates

Expatriates are not who are Expelled from their home land Especially as they work Exclusively for the land Exaggerations their lives Externally while you find Except for a few, Exposed in the view. Extremely we work for Embarking , not in the moon Emotionally we speak for Expecting , not in the soon. Excuse me , we will be back Excess of love we will pack Exactly that we need Eternally what indeed. Padmakumar

Law From the Land

Law from the Land

We are no where in the history
Merely a part of geography
Floating spots of Arabians sea
Exporting the surplus of our peace
Expecting the survival of our place
Thankful to the kind of main land
Painful to depart from their hand
Now the sun is purple from the east
With a pearcing look reaching top
Fading with a red face of fear
Budding response of different genre
But all defuse in the raising waves

We never invite industrial fumes
We never against to constitutional frames
We will not involve cheering girls
We will not allow chilling glass

Don't intrude into the piece of land
Don't destroy silent peace of land
Roar is on reah from the protecting hands
War is a breach from devastating minds
Nothing will remain,
But realise the value we lost...
First it was the natural diversity
Next it may be the cultural integrity.

Darkness of Night

DARKNESS OF NIGHT
=============

DARKNESS
WOULD HAVE BEEN
RETAINED FOR NIGHT

SHE COULD HAVE
INVOLVED
WHERE , THERE IS
NO MOON LIGHT IS TO INTERFERE

WHERE , THERE IS
NO SPY WANDERING AROUND

BUT.....
SHE HAS BEEN MARKED
BY GLITTERING NEEDLES
IMMERSED IN THE FLESH

IT IS ONLY
DARKNESS
APT FOR NIGHT.

Corona Times

CORONA TIMES
------------------

Who are all become remaining , to survive
While re-collecting the isolate paintings

Feeble announcement from sources reliable
Really Corona arriving to cost and routine

Mutated epidemics severally endangered in
Dictating letters with smell of blood inside.

People are running but basis the flash
They may have dark dent of small pox in mind

World is confined to an volatile spot , hence
Segregations are all impossible tasks.

No longer we can hide inside a shade
What else the doctrine of co-existence

Do expect anything in random and baseless
Take a vacation from good days and dreaming

How long deep sufferings and fled in a life
Concurred all pain with a smile in the lip

Once again we need to re- organize
So as to retain the valleys in green

Expecting world is now warming behind us
No excuse , we ought to score on this day.
