Emily Tripp Poem
The grey skies moving at a slow but still rapid pace
The water going over the destroyed dam
Water flowing like it’s a race
This place will always take me back
Back to places of my childhood
After school going to this river
Never worrying about adulthood
Thinking about this place makes me shiver
Walking by it looking at shells
To scared to get in the water
My dad always said I was a Belle
That I was his Daughter
That I would accomplish greater things
Always by the river
He would say this
In the town of House Springs
I would quiver
From the cold of this place
But it was always a memory
Of better times and better places

Emily Tripp Poem
Entangled in a million emotions
Constantly tossing and turning
it always feels like everything's in slow motion
stomach constantly churning
I look at people in the eyes
Always scared of judgement
What if what they think is a lie
What if I make the wrong movement
Always scared of being alone
Falling deeper and deeper into myself
Constantly overthinking
Maybe I’m full of regret
Maybe I’ll fall alone.
